When he said something about his friend from Monstadt giving him a dandelion drink, (I forgot the exact dialouge but it was something like that) I KNEW that he was the Geo Archon.
Zhongli's English voice is so beautiful. Every time I get a panic attack I listen to his voice to calm down and it works everytime. I'm glad that Mihoyo made Zhongli's lines longer so we can relax while listening to his voice
You feel like those old Wuxia brotherhood kind of person. Those who are loyal, talk justice yet hides into the shadow. Man, MiHoYo graduated from making Waifus only game to Waifus and Husbando games now.
Don't worry we all are going to change it to Chinese. I totally didn't change to Chinese from the start of the game and put all my settings to Chinese. Even as a Chinese person I really have problems reading Chinese because I used English to much
@@Jinhyuu lmao the amount of times I pull out my translator for this game. Also my Chinese marks better improve when I get back to school. I was born Chinese yet I don't even know the grammar rules ;-;
@@sk-gi1kl As much as I love his voice (in Chinese) I hate him now. I feel so betrayed, all times that we were together, all these missions. AND I GOT BETRAYED JUST SLAPPED IN THE FACE IN ONE SCENE. Everything I thought was my reality was A LIE!
@@tsuzenomead303 well Zhongli tricked me for the entire story in Liyue. I’m helping him with his own “funeral” and then he gives away his core, THE CORE I was after to the freaking enemy (Fatui not to mention) and collaborating with Childe and Signora?! I was shook and I was mad. I feel betrayed and I still hate Zhongli for that atrocious crime he committed against our friendship. Basically the whole story of Liyue was pointless, because Zhongli was alive but refused to do anything. All this time he could’ve ended every misery and prevented me from doing these missions but instead he gave me a ton of missions to do just so he could give away his core to someone else... the only thing I hear when I hear Zhongli’s Chinese VA is betrayal.
His EN and CN voice is just, *CHEF KISS* The English one basically make me melts and holy shit the Chinese one is so elegant, like, REALLY elegant, scholar elegant 😩♥️♥️
As a Chinese, I kinda feel the EN voice is calm enough but a bit old for the character's face...but given the storyline he is a 6k yrs old man so I'm okay with that lol. My fav is the CHN one, just seem culturally fit the most
ru-vid.com/show-UCArz31eKCg5KyD58dJ5Id2g This is a RU-vid channel of Korean voice actor of Zhongli. I don't know if you're still interested, but I think you'll like it, so I'm sending you the link
In my opinion, his Korean voice it's beautiful but it sounds too young, while in Chinese it sounds more elegant and mature, that's why more people are talking about the Chinese version instead 🙂 Also, the korean version of Paimon stressed me so much in this video, tbh
@@Almosteasy haha i agree, paimon’s voice actor in Korean should’ve been better heheh. But I agree with your opinion too! I like the Chinese one as well and it fits him good
Anyone else out here SUPER impressed by the Korean dub? I never really listen to anything in Korean so I was expecting to be very neutral, but WOAH. Childe and Zhongli were both so good, I'm shook y'all
Hello everyone, I am a Chinese player who dedicated to Zhongli. Although my English is not good, I have done a little research on ancient Chinese. Today I will explain to you some knowledge about Zhongli's “Q”. I hope this can help you and I hope my bad English will not be too confusing to you. Unlike English, every word in Chinese often has multiple meanings, sometimes even several meanings at the same time. Sometimes the meaning of a word cannot be understood from the surface, you must know the allusion behind it to understand it. This is why Chinese is always misinterpreted after being translated. In English, Zhongli says,“I will have order!”in a majestic tone. In the Chinese version,he says,“天动万象。”in a calm and casual tone. The two versions are related, but they are quite different. “天” is one of the most important concepts in Chinese Character Culture Circle. Narrowly speaking, it means top, sky, heaven, palace, day, The only God, nature, season, weather, emperor, matter of paramount importance, the law of everything, karma, etc. In most of modern times,“天” means, the sky, the law of everything, and the day. The original meaning of “动” is to act, to act to achieve a certain intention. The extension is the name of all moving, such as movement, vibration, movement, launching, moving, etc. Used as an adverb, referring to "often". "天动" can also be understood as "the movement of celestial bodies". The meaning of “万象” is relatively simple, which means "everything" or "phenomena in and outside the universe". At the same time, the word "万象" can be taken apart and understood. “万”means "ten thousand", as a relatively large number,it can be extended to "everything". The original meaning of “象” is elephant or ivory. Later, it means "similar" and the extension refers to “imitating” or "the appearance of things." In this sentence, “天” is a noun, "动" is a verb, “万” is a noun, "象" is a verb. When Zhongli says that “天动万象”, he roughly means he is the law of everything. When he orders, the world willingly obey. When he acts, everything naturally follows. Finally, I wish everyone who sees the end can pull Zhongli out with onewish! Thank you!。◕‿◕。
Damn you put so much effort into this and it shows,, thank u sm,, I speak Chinese at home so I don't understand the idioms or the more difficult words so ur comment is rlly helpful. It's so fascinating lol I thought that he just said smtg complicated to sound cool but now Ik its more than that haha
despite the jp voices being more popular (from what I’ve seen), the Chinese voices will always be my personal faves (but the English Zhong is so.... *chef kiss*)
My mom heard his voice and I swear she said "that is the voice of your father when he wooed me back then." My father also heard his voice and said "now you know how I obtained your mother's hand in marriage." Hopefully he will go home to my team, the whale is there too waiting for him.
DEFINITELY LOVE HIS KOREAN DUB. he is the reason I set mine to kr voice. and after that I realized that korean dub feels better 😭👍✨ maaan the kr voice staff choose the perfect va for the character. each of the character has personality in their voices too! I they are all perfect!
Omg I completely agree! I may be biased since I'm korean myself but I think korean is the perfect dub for genshin besides chinese! It just hurts so much for people to belittle our language and voice actors saying how emotionless and stiff they sound when they really aren't and do carry tons of emotion behind them 😔 I guess it can't be help since a lot of the players are anime lovers and don't understand korean
I'm use KR dub & yesss their voices are perfect, calm especially when it comes to Zhongli & Ganyu voices. (plz I don't have them whyy :')) Also, JP & KR Yanfei is SOOO different, her JP voice sounds too ara2 so I prefer the kr ones cuz I think it matches well with her. Also, Childe KR VA is same as Adrien VA from miraculous ladybug XD (I love Childe & Yanfei KR voice that's why I maintain the kr voice since they are added in my main team)
@@tonychoi8188 agree with the english, chinese and korean, but personally for me the Japanese really sounds like an ikemen anime character lol (the cool one in the group usually sound like this), typical shounen mc will always more energetic and lil bit childish.
@@mongyangie *CN sub not dub because the chinese one is the original and the other languages are the dubs. but yes i agree! it especially fits zhongli because he's like the most chinese character, from his name, speech style, character design, to the place he is in lol.
@@navysilverwolf Yeah so cn sub. Dub is the process of removing the original track and replacing it with another language like En and Jp dubs.. Sub refers to the subtitles' change in language but the original track's language is not changed.
The Chinese version fits him the best in my opinion. Edit: Ok, so when i wrote this i didn't play Genshin get, but now i do for 6 months. I still do not have this man! Btw, now i think English, Chinese and Frech fit him the best.
The English one is quite soothing in how deep it is, but I’m still not sure it fits Zhongli specifically. Chinese voices remain my personal favourite for getting that natural flow of conversation and emotion, with Zhongli’s VA (who’s also the voice director of the game!) doing quite well to capture a refined aura who’s actually fairly personable. :ooo
I once had a dream where I wishes on a banner and got him as a character and was playing with his character with a spear, I wonder what his voice overs with him would be with the friendship thing
The English one is just mmph. Feels fitting for the Geo Archon dragon But the Chinese one is MMMPPPHHH. Perfect for Zhongli and who he is, how he acts and more. I've played the game with Chinese VAs since day one and don't regret it. Especially after listening to Zhongli taking so beautifully while you idle in game.
Zhong li talking like a real god because of the amount Chinese drama I watch like when the heavens starts talking that old voice comes out. So listening to Zhong li I literally thought up the heaven holy voice
Ah i love the chinese and korean voices Chinese zhongli is so calm, deep and gentle he makes you feel the ages he's lived Korean zhongli has a firm core like a rock which is what exactly he is...a rock god
Sorry if it makes you feeling offended… are you Korean? I just saw some meaningless war between Korean and Chinese(Taiwanese) in other comments under this video and therefore felt really really upset until I see your comment. I am Chinese and I truly appreciate KR voice. I just can't decide which one is my favorite among EN/KR/CN. But those aggressive clowns just keep bashing and even insulting the other nation and culture…After seeing those nonsense, It's really refreshing to see your kind words, thank you.
Sorry to say this, but I just realized english voice is the hottest but the most unfit for zhongli personality imo. After listening to the other language, I think he's supposed to be kind of calm and lack-of-emotion guy (type that cant read the mood). But EN voice sounds like caring daddy with deep hot voice.
You are correct, they should have used that en voice for Varka (it’s confirmed he is old man according to Rosaria) or character with older features (probably Pantalone)
Chinese fits like a glove to his character 😭 IMO Korean, Japanese and English have different depths of the voice bec. formal tone/sentences but they're like closely similar to one another 🤔🤷 ((ain't expert to voices but that's what i think;;))
EN and CN for me. You can see the ancient, calm and collected Zhongli in CN, which the VA conveys superbly. On the other hand, EN magnificently conveys the wise and learned Zhongli, and you can even catch the faintest hint of a warrior underneath.
I consider myself always biased toward Japanese's VA, but in this one, Zhongli Chinese's VA is really win for me. It's so calm, elegant and gentle yet also firm. So mature and wise but not that deep, it's fit perfectly with his young appearance and his real identity as archon. I could hear him talk all day and never got tired of his voice.
For me those language kinda separate personality... Like a: - Chinese: Balance between personality and face - English: personality and the way He's speech like old man (and yeah already old like 6000 years old) - Japanese: fit on face but doesn't fit on personality and not enough sound like old man - Korean: underrated language but fit for old man too Well just my *opinion*
His CN voice as if he from those old Wuxia movie. Has that charm that you know he spoke highly of himself yet humble, you felt naturally attracted to his charm, want to be his pal for life kind of person.
the English version threw me off at first ngl but it's growing on me so I would say it's my second favorite. Still like the Chinese version the best. the Japanese and Korean versions are good but feel off for some reason lol. Japanese sounds like some other dude coz it's not as deep as the others. I think I'm just not used to Korean voices outside of movies so I can't really say what feels off exactly.
@sharon its a bit theatrical/cartoonish. and i think korean va culture has been this way for a long time. as a korean i usually dont prefer korean dubs either.
