The classic quote "A man can be destroyed but not defeated" comes from Ernest Hemingway, a man who authored many great works that continue to resonate influence throughout the world. However, it's a little-known fact that Hemingway enjoys a lasting affinity with Chongqing. In April 1941, Hemingway visited the then war-torn city of Chongqing, during which time he had a secret meeting with Zhou Enlai. Zhou was head of the Southern Bureau under CPC leadership, where he strived to empower the United Front, established communication with parties overseas, and raised international relations of the CPC to a whole new level.

I read that Hemingway’s wife, a journalist ,was posted to China and Hemingway followed her. They stayed 3 months in China.

It is sad Zhou is still unknown legend. It was him,not Mao to keep China alive and progress. It was him did all diplomatic affairs ;Korea Vietnam,Soviet,U.S,Hungary,Chez,India. It was him helping Deng to be nation leader.DSP would never be chairman of ccp without his wisdom. It was him Dr H K said one of very few people impressed him. It was him working on the dead bed from prostate cancer and haematuria. It was him never got state burial. Tell me how many billions of people owe him. He may remain unkown, But no one shall attack him in the name of freedom of speech.

Historical development couldn't progress as it did removing pieces. Today's PRC is the result of the dialectical development pushed by Mao, Zhou, Deng and all the people of China in relation with the world with all their successes and mistakes. No figure can be removed in the analysis. Zhou is respected as rightfully is Mao.
