In one thing you are wrong, without halo driver would be also ok in inverted position in F1 car. Halo is a great thing and it is necessary to increase safety but it is over interpretation saying that halo is saving somebody when f1 car in inverted. Further FIA analyzes will show if Halo in this accident helps or just make difficulties to escape from car. (not sure if anybody from us will have access to read them) If there were any flames/fire there could be discussion about problems with leaving a car with halo. He was fine but just couldn't get out. It is more about statistics and which accidents are more frequently, ones that halo actual helps, ones that halo can trap driver in burning car.
@alwade24
@alwade24 2 года назад
@@wirtracwera4422 in THEORY sure, the roll hoop should protect them. Watch again, you see it instantly crush and see how close his helmet is to the ground, only thing stopping his head smashing into the ground and probably snapping his neck was the halo being there. When there are safety features with lives on the line, redundancies are important. While each redundancy has a small percentage of failure, when you get multiple, the chance of all failing gets lower and lower.

Especially since a huge majority of the time, family members are watching. The production crew for the 2020 Daytona 500 did the absolute wrong thing, by showing Ryan Newman's absolutely destroyed car, and close up replays of him getting hit, upside down, in the drivers' side at high speed, before anyone even knew if he was so much as _ALIVE_ as the extraction process took so long from how the car landed. No one should be seeing those camera angles outside of Race Control and Production unless it's expressly clear that the driver is alive and not fatally injured. Viewers weren't told anything and just shown various camera angles on replay, I genuinely thought he had died if not been severely injured - because we weren't told anything as they were still working to get him out of the car. We were just shown the replay as if it was just another normal crash. That's why I'd rather have FOM be safe than sorry and just not show accidents until they tell us the driver is okay - like Grosjean's crash.

The halo doing what it was made to do again! Also the fact George probably could of made it back to the pits for the restart but instead turned the car off and ran to see if joe was ok is great sportsmanship

Zhou gets such a great qualifying effort, so unfortunate he gets caught up in someone else's business. Glad he's okay, but they really need to get higher barriers in turn 1 there, lucky parts, or the car didn't fly off into the crowd

Based on the way the car flipped he would have went into the barrier head first if it was higher.

Insanely scary incident, but also extremely impressive to see how well all safety measures held up. Once again, the halo is a true blessing and engineering masterpiece.

The Halo saved the day, yet again. It is certainly gratifying and utterly relieving seeing Zhou walking away from such a horrible upside-down rollover, apparently unscathed.

Even though Zhou is the new guy of this year's season, that brutal crash was unprecedented even for him. Luckily as the halos on every F1 car cockpits proved to be a lifesaver, he's lucky that he survived that. Of note, you often see brutal crashes like these one race after another, and the more FIA's top brass recommending further improvement on the safety measures on F1 cars and drivers.

Glad he's ok, another testament to the safety improvements over the years. There's still room for improvement. This obviously warrants an investigation, imagine flipping over a barrier at a street circuit. That would not end well.
@antonkirilenko3116

Well there are no gravel traps on the street circuits. The car flipped over only because the wheels got dug into the gravel and the inertia did the rest.

Yet those cars are built so well, this crash and Grosjeans firey crash. Zhou and Grosjean are alive today because of how well the cars are built today.

Just imagine if that car hitted fire while hanging there upside down :o Glad he is ok! Terrifying...

It’s incredible that it didn’t really, they hadn’t even cleared the first sector, the tank had 52 laps of fuel in it

Latifui made a great start and Gasly too but Russel didn’t fancy 2 cars blasting past and shut the door on 3 wide, which span him into slow staring Zhou in the Alpha. Verdict Gasly should predict the next corner is a right and Russell will be coming to open it out

If the halo wasn't there this weekend would be one of the darkest Formula 1 weekends to date, this could've been Imola '94 all over again with 2 casualties. First the crash with Nissany and Hauger in the F2 main race, and Zhou in the F1 race... Just goes to show that we should be incredibly grateful for the halo to be there.

Not to fault anyone here. But Russel really seemed to absentmindedly come across the track as if there was no possibility there might be cars there. Like come on man...

That was 100% Russels fault. His turning was too aggressive. No room for the AlphaTauri to go anywhere. Hope he got a penalty for creating such a horrible crash. Bless the halo tho.

Gasly took a chance and Zhou and George paid the price. It’s nobody’s fault, just a classic first lap racing accident.

Russel wouldn't have seen gassly in his mirrors anyways. Gassly didn't have enough of his car between Zhou and george to own that position and knowingly he backed out. just a matter of milliseconds too slow. hense racing incident.

HALO HALO HALOOO !! Like some others say - the sparks show the halo works. It's the angel all F1 drivers really needed + its really proving it really works to the drivers whom didn't want it for them to change their mind. Wow wow - so glad he's okay !

Seriously, Zhou's luck this season has been dreadful. I think about 4 or 5 races this season he has been in the points due to an amazing start or qualy, only for his car to break down or something like this happens. I'm glad he's ok, i'm really rooting for him this season.

Because there were drivers who died in a tragic accident, the current drivers were able to be safe. We should be thankful and sorry for the drivers who have passed away.
