Wow…both were number 1 during their time & table tennis strokes looked relatively simple compared to today. And this was the era of the Cultural Revolution & in few years Zhuang Zedong would become the Ping Ping diplomat who bridged US-China relationships. Ogimura also became a ping pong diplomat for Japan.

Ogimura ended his career as top table tennis player and became the World Table Tennis Association Chairman. I met him once in Hong Kong in early 1980's and he was surprised 😯 to see his 3 books have been translated to traditional Chinese, one book refering table tennis skills, 2 books refering table tennis tactics 📚 especially he mentioned 高橋浩
