Roast duck chow mein is one of my favourite all time dishes. I have been trying to recreate this exact taste ever since I had it for the first time years ago. I always thought the reason I couldn't do it was because I didn't have a super high heat wok burner.. Thank you so much for your amazing channel and teaching us how to make this amazing food at home

Electric woks get up to 230c, but the thermostat means it doesn’t go low. It cycles from hot to cold to maintain temp. It’s the best I’ve found so far, and it’s easy because you just plug it in. Get the best results from one item.

different on every cooker, it a matter of trial and error, but the onions need to be browned :)

I love roast duck chow mein but I'm the only one so buying a pack of frozen duck just for me would be ideal but the only problem is taking a portion out without defrosting as we cannot re freeze it

Couldn't stay long in the stream but I was asking about spicy chow mein but had to dip out over here in Ireland we have Amber Fire and Inferno sauce choices. I don't know what he flavor is meant to resemble but can you suggest any any spicy chow mein dishes that actually have a well known name if that makes sense or even when you're back to regular uploads etc you could even do a video recipe. PS, What where you drinking haha :)

MSG is add as it boosts the flavour that’s there if you just added more soy, the soy would be over powering the the salt levels off the charts, so it’s use with not instead of :)

At least you make real chow mein. Here in the states fat too many take out places make that horrible chicken and assorted veggie dish and call it chow mein. Believe you, me, that crap is NOT chow mein and I never order it. If I was it I make it at home.

@@ZiangsFoodWorkshop ours is FULL of sugar and everything they use comes out of a can or jar, which I mean, that's expected to a degree as they are there to make money and the more they make "fresh" on site cuts into those profits. As an example: Our "boneless bbq ribs" come in this super bright red sauce that basically food coloring in a sugar syrup with a dash of Chinese 5 spice in it. It's good, but not authentic bbq pork. Now your Char Sue on the other hand, that's REAL!

We have a halogen oven and a flat bottom carbon steal wok. The oven largest halogen ring is the same diameter of the flat bottom of the wok and we can get the wok smoking hot and can char noodles very easy
