Zidane is and will always be my favourite player of all time. Ronaldo and Messi were incredible, but Zidane made it all look so effortless. He was never graced with pace but didnt need it. He was so clever. Watching him was watching a genius at work.
@@stevesteve5785milan ac late 80th by far superior. Much more direct approach. Mu h more danger in front of goal. Much better defence and goalie. No chance barca.
Lifelong juve fan and I watched zidane week in Week out for a period of time. He was either a 10/10 or a 4/10 every game. He did put in some shocking performances and whilst beyond incredibly talented he had a terrible temper.
You're probably right especially with his temper , although with madrid he had better consistency especially in early years , and i'm a madrid fan seen him also week in week out , and you know what i understand what u mean because believe it or not i also support juve in italy all beacuse of grande alex and i've seen a lot of ducomentaries about that era and ofcourse i 've seen flashes of the 90's juve
People go on about Zidane and never mention Figo. At the time the 'who is better, Zidane or Figo' debate was a serious one, like Messi/Ronaldo now. Many, many people preferred Figo, but he's been sort of wiped from football history. Its odd how people now place Zidane as peerless, above all others when it definitely was not seen that way at the time.
Zidane was always better than Figo...even when Figo won the 2000' ballon d'or it should have been Zidane (best player of euro 2000), but because he headbutt a guy (hamburg vs juventus) he did not get what he deserve
Not putting Zidane down, because he was a top player, but around the mid/late 90's Keane got the better of him when he was @ Juventus. People mustn't forget, that not only with United but also with Ireland Keane dominated against the best Dutch and Italian players in the 90's and noughties! For a period of about 3/4 years Roy Keane was world class 👍 ps. Romario is the best goal scorer I ever saw. NOT the best forward, but the best goal scorer!!!
In combination with his football IQ, elegance and sense of where the ball, his teammates and opponents were. He was a step ahead. The legendary example is obviously what he did to Man Utd at Old Trafford.
Zidane outside the Liverpool changing room:- "Ay, I'm going in there to say hello. I know all the players names except the small bald one. What is it?" Other player: "Danny something" Zidane: "That will do" Zidane goes in changing room. Before he forgets, goes straight to the short bald one. Zidane: "Hello Danny"
And Kaka is also right up there And so was reboundo🇧🇷🇧🇷🐐🐐💪🏻💪🏻🔥☄️🙌🙏 And everyone knows about plays like ronaldino. Zedan, and Ronaldo Nazario. So they go without saying 🇧🇷🇫🇷
Great story but Houllier NEVER oached Zidane. Also, the whole Europe was already aware of treble-winning Reds by then.Danny was great in this squad. 2000s football was something else.
My father always told me Zidane is insanely good, but as a Messi Ronaldo generation, I Love Cristiano and Messi but as a 9 y.o boy watching 2006 WC, France vs Brazil, i was like " what? Zidane came back after retirement? Yeah whatever" and when he got the ball, even as a kid i was like "Nah, this guy? Destroying Brazil? Alone? Oh God.." 😂😂😂😂
It’s obvious from the position Zidane played he was never going to score too many goals. I am not sure why people are so surprised. I get very irritated when ppl compare him to wingers and strikers.
@@mojebi3804 He was still supposed to create for others like for Theiry Henry when playing for France and for Ronaldo, Raul, and Owen when playing for Real Madrid. I am not sure if you watched football when Zidane played, but you should watch if he used to pass ball more frequently than dribble past defenders to score. He wasn’t like Kaka.
@@mojebi3804 so you are one of those guys who rome around with a stats book? Zidane has only scored 5 goals in his three world cups he played (1998/2002/2006), which is 0.42 (very poor) goals per game. Does that show his impact on those World Cup? How about fk off?
@sebfox2194 you know you're relevant when you're the top star having people taliking about you 20 years later because you knew their name not the other way around
In the 2000/01 season zidane got sent off in the first champions league game, served a 2 game ban. Came back in game 4 then got sent off in his next one being banned for the remainder of the group…(Deportivo and Hamburg). Sometimes his lack of discipline cost his teams everything.
