Which Zidoo player are you using? Watch the original review here: Upgrade in 2024? Zidoo Z20 Pro Review ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Li74BSACUFM.html
Z9XPro owner that came from a Zappiti Neo. I consider the Zidoo the superior player and won't even bother trying R_volution. "you will never run out of space..." Well I am sure I am not alone pushing those limits. I have a NAS with 90TB and a USB 10-Bay enclosure currently with 6 drives. 2 16TB and 2 22TB. For all questioning the 22TB I have them as two partitions and the Zidoo sees them as two drives under the supported 16TB limit.
@@hatoraidcowboy that is just the NAS. In the 10 bay usb enclosure connected directly I have another 114TB. The 3 16TB drives I plan to swap out with 22TB and I still have 4 bays free. I have slowed down my disc purcashing as my collection grown, so hopefullythis enclosure last me 4+ years. I also gave a 4TB laptop external drive with music and demo files. So in total I have 208TB connected to my Zidoo..
@@hatoraidcowboy i haven't encountered any real issues. After I load movies onto the drives over the network to the enclosure attached via usb I have ran into some but I just restart the Zidoo and then all is well. It does take some time after reboot for the Zidoo to find everything, but no longer than cooking dinner. My guess 10-15 minutes before Zidoo sees all the drives again. I leave it on all the other than when I need to reboot.
I bought a Z20 back in September. Very happy with it so far. I had no idea there was an app that went with it. Definitely going to have to try that out.
I got one today. Easy to setup and I can play my files from my Laptop. Only one big problem. Hard drive noise. With my 10TB HDD plugged into the internal bay it's very noisy but only when I'm not using it. If I'm playing a movie off of it it's quiet. So if I'm streaming a movie from my laptop I can hear the drive clicking and it's loud. Almost like it's echoing in the closed bay. Zidoo could fix this in a firmware upgrade though. At the moment you can set the Zidoo to turn off the hard drive after 10 minutes. So that's 10 minutes of clicking. What if I had the option to turn off the drive after 1 minute instead? Zidoo make it happen please.
Do I have to pay for titles , can I get any title , are there any fees to consider ? So many Zidoo products, I just got a new 4K 85 tv and want better feed than Netflix I don’t want kolidascape .
@@hatoraidcowboy I’m sorry I’m a little ignorant, been netflicking for a while now just got a new tv and want better res and I dont want physical disks , I got into tidal I have a node2 for my music and it’s great , I want to do the same for my movies , how exactly do I provide the media , I don’t want to rip disks , I think there’s allot of people like me . Please give me an example of how I provide the media , via a stream possibly
@@hatoraidcowboy one more question and thanks by the way , is there any device out there that you can stream to watch at the same time and deletes itself or am I asking for to much , or is there a service like tidal that stores your library so it can act like a node for movies . I’m a minimalist If I have to buy disks to rip them I might as well play them on a player , what am I missing . And thanks again
I have their Z9X Pro and absolutely love it. If I add a second Zidoo client in another room, how do I get them to sync up so I don't have to do the scraping, posters, etc. all over again? Will progress be saved between the two devices? Let's say that I start watching a movie in one room and get about a third of the way through. Can I go into the other room and continue where I left off?
I have the Zidoo Z9X - it's the best thing I've ever bought. Transformed my home theatre. I just wish I could rip to ISO in stead of mkv with MakeMKV. Any ideas?
@taqyon Dvd Fab should have an iso version. But yea I have discs that wont rip to iso but I think that’s just the disc and probably some janky copyright protection by the studio. I use Cyberlink for iso rips.
Are you having any trouble getting all the disc content transferred to your PC storage? I've seen a couple videos on 4K ripping and it seems to be a finicky process. Kinda makes me wish Apple would announce Lossless support for video like they did for their music libraries.
Is it possible to transfer files from a computer to the internal hard drive ? And manage the files from the computer or with an app like deleting a movie for exemple ?
does the z20 work with philips syncbox, or is it better to plug it straight into the tv? i just do not want to give up my ambient with movies. the syncbox suport vision and atmos, but upto 60hz
Thinking about picking up one of these players. Have you had any playback issues from a drive in the internal hdd bay? Any other issues that you have encountered?
No real issues. Every now and then I’ll get a stutter but its few and far between. Its my main source for watching movies and the companion app is awesome.
Hi I have ZIDO Z20 pro, Fw: v1.0.75_G beta. but sometimes when playing 4K content it freezes sometimes even when I turn on playback! The same file sometimes runs well sometimes it doesn't!
I went to buy one from my local hifi store , the salesman said it upscales lower resolution content , he didnt say what resolutions . I spoke to to zidoo , they said it doesnt , what do u say ? Doest it do anything with picture quality especially with projection? Thanks
@@hatoraidcowboy i would love to know , i would assume u might own a dvd disc & bluray of the same film , could u rip them both & do a test ? It would be interesting to know . Also is there any like tone mapping settings in the zidoo to give it a more peak colour or vibrant colour when paired with a projector , this info would help me a lot in deciding if i get one or not . Thanks
It has LLDV options on the player itself so essentially the player will do the tone mapping to the projector. I’ll confirm in the settings that there’s upscaling options
I like the Zidoo better. But I need to check out the R_Volution again because I think they’ve pushed out some updates. The R_Volution was a lot slower than the Zidoo when I first got it.
