I did a truck review. Yes, it has been a while... Support the Tribe by entering ATRIBECALLEDCARS in the creator tag at checkout if you buy the DLC via Epic Games!
After hearing about the many flaws, I think I need to get the truck myself to convince myself of how useless it is! Have a nice day and see you in the next video, Ben!
I've used it and it definitely has some downsides. It REALLY likes to stick it's nose absolutely everywhere it doesn't belong. It becomes a damage magnet to that engine. Soon as the road became fairly hilly and bumpy, it would get hung up, making you reposition to get its nose out of the dirt. A raised suspension would help considerably.
Absolutely spot on. The only disappointment I have found so far is that I have to force myself to use my new, and very cool looking, Derry Special rather than the Mastrabate. Towing one with the other does make short work of watering down burnt out warehouses though.
And the Mastrabate makes short work of towing the Derry Special out of its muddy grave and back to the garage. You aren't really aware it is connected. I agree with your video premise that this is a game breaker truck and could end up being ruined as a result - although the truffle digger is a bit annoying occaisionally.
What I don't understand is why the devs didn't bother to put a medium log add on on it. The chassis is literally the exact right size for the medium log bunk.
I tried every -Runner game since Spintires 2011 tech demo and I think that Snowrunner is much better and more realistic than any previous game from this studio. It's a masterpiece imho
I bought the truck and have spent a few hours today on Amur, my only gripe is the chin on the thing. Whilst it doesn't stop you from getting where you want to go, it does cause massive engine damage on a long trek, which is very annoying, even innocuous looking roads do damage at times. It needs raising, maybe active suspension like the Azov got? I like it other than that.
The non trailer usage with the 3 slot bed is such an arbitrary limitation. There is clearly enough of a gap for them to cleanly attach, and considering the Paystar Twinsteer is the only 3 slot + bed truck in the game, and it is also the only one that adds a crane on top of that, which the 612 can’t do, I don’t feel like it would brutally break the game balance. Hell the paystar is also locked behind a paywall, and is not that hard to obtain.
i wish they wouldve done a custom fuel addon or at least having it be a reskin of the water trailer because were more likely to use fuel than water at least for the current maps
Got it and used it. What I like: 2 slot cargo with crane at the BACK. Done 2 missions in last map ( gold delivery and rolled up grass) and it done with flying collors. It looks cool. What I dont liked - nothing major. I would love to see more power/speed for it, as its real life counterpart was more poverfull thing tham 609 was. The "chin" can be problematic, but not like azov 73210. Good truck, bought it, no complains.
Там баг на улучшеной специальной коробке передач, там действительно повышаюшая передача медленее чем понижающая передача +, при этом на "точной регулировке" все нормально
I LOVE This Truck. Its my new favorite daily use Truck. It does all, what i need. It wont fall over like other Trucks, it hat Chains if needed an it has Flatbed an Crane, which is perfect. Its BEST Truck in game i think. Beside his small Brother.
Actually driving loads with her right now as I type this. 'O, Ka-tyu-sha, Know she is my true love! Through the yeeears, A-counting one by one!' (Can you tell I love the MAZ 543? ^^)
The long-awaited rear crane. Nice! But it would be nice to add it to some poorly balanced trucks like: Western Star 49X, Tatra T813, International Transtar 4070A, Ford CLT9000 maybe Freightliner 114SD or Fleetstar F2070A. Of course, after installing the crane, move the hook so that the trailer can be used. It seems that DAN would gain a lot from such a crane, but could it be too strong then?
I get the humor your trying to inject into the video with "complaining " about the truck. But it made the video a little confusing when you talked actual downsides. Just feedback, I really enjoy your vids
Yeah if they added either bigger wheels or a raised suspension to it I think there wouldn't even really be any comparison. The only tasks it does worse then like the 605r is because it's nose being stuck into everything
You know that place where you rescue the other truck Zikz 605R? I got there with this beast. Fuel tank on a vehicle itself and 1500 spare parts in service trailer Easy grab
This truck is an absolute demon. I’ve never once had to even come close to putting it into low gear. If tears through everything with ease. Terrible truck
For real tho, Mastodon cant pull shit. 2x Concrete slabs and trailer out of a quarry and it cant get out so i got the 73210 to rescue it. After that the Mastodon kept bogging down on the slightest hint of mud. It seriously needs some tweaking
The best Mastodon engine has a torque of 265k not 365k, also the tires use the heavy profile instead of the superheavy profile (the Zikz 605R uses superheavy for example) giving them only 200 tire mass, instead of the superheavies 600 tire mass, making their traction significantly weaker. So the perceived performance issues are very real. (It's still a good truck, but there are some real "issues" with it basically)
The sideboard bed is ALMOST big enough to carry the White Western Star 4964. Not even kidding, I actually am disappointed it didn't fit so it could be packed. XD
Hey Ben. I used to comment under your videos (particularly snowrunner!) in the games early days under a different name. I recently got back into the game and am still having a blast. Recently rediscovered your channel through the Azov Sprinter how to unlock guide, and I Just want to say thank you for keeping the snowrunner fans updated and for providing the most entertaining videos on the game I’ve ever seen. Cheers for all your effort and hard work. You really are a hidden gem on this platform. Can’t recommend you to my snowrunner friends enough!! 🎉
You can buy it again through the store for 220,000-odd SnowRunner money. At least, you should be able to but Switch has a few differences from what I have heard.
G'Day Ben. You've certainly used the old 'reverse psychology' trick in this video. Must admit though, that this beast was most useful in Spintires and in its latest incarnation in Snowrunner is, in general, fit for purpose. Would agree though that variable suspension is a must. Keep up the good work.
The 605r has wider tires, so it’s more capable. But the 612H has that versatility advantage. So it’s fair enough but it’s a little underwhelming that this former MudRunner king was unable to live up to the power of the SR king.
True video. This truck is bad. (Laughing like a mad man, because I love it) Euhm, no I don’t, I hate it. Make it go faster and more powerfull. I stand by what @atribecalledcars said.
Yes I too have decided to cunningly pretend that this definitely wasn't so funny I practically had to wipe away tears of laughter and definitely not so good that I immediately subscribed to this channel while still trying to control the laughter absolutely not caused by your terrible review and I have already purchased this useless terrible truck anyway knowing it would be as awful as it was in Mudrunner. Please continue making the not at all amusing content buddy I definitely won't love it 😂😂😂😂
Well I wouldn't be surprised at all they are releasing new trucks but poorly made and situated on maps seems like they did not really tested the truck at all, they just aim for quick cash crab and nothing else. Honestly the only way for me to enjoy the game is tweak the trucks and make adjustments on their power and fuel making it challenging, rather than expecting a truck to work well but more on downsides is not worth it.
Has anyone tried the cockpit view for driving? The one mirror you only have is positioned in such a way that it is constantly obscured by the metal structure. I even tried zooming in OR out in cockpit view - to no avail. I hope the devs fix this truly crippling feature, as it is already more difficult driving without being able to see out on the right hand side. What about a camera monitor where no mirror is possible? Would be no probs for modern vehicles? Or rear cameras as add-on? Or reverse drive ultrasound distance measurement support? I also find that the engine sound seems very repetitive without proper articulation based on actual rpm.
I am doing doing a full play through snowrunner with a fleet of these an really enjoying it great fun with it no worries never roll it annd never get stuck
The truck I have been waiting for since the game released and it's utter shit. Did not need too be a paid for dlc it needed to be earned like it's predecessor.
Hopefully they buff it that turn radius & w.e is wrong with the dirt now making my trucks get stuck till i unhook the trailer & just winch drag it in which we move like i should've been moving. That or just wait for mods to buff it lol. That & the stupid cant pull a trailer with certain beds.
Pound for pound this teuck is vry useful, strong and equipped for all the muddy boggy maps and since i haven't dug out the 605r yet im buying this lol.
I don't regret spending €3.99 for the ZiKZ 612H, but I keep finding somewhat annoying that the price doesn't at least include all the engine options ready to install. Instead, while they're unlocked, you also have to spend additional in-game credits to buy them, and the most powerful engine cost 24,000 'dollars'. Performance-wise, it's okay, but nothing to write home about - at least with the base engine. I've used it in one of the longest and most tedious missions in Yukon, and it did its job fine, but I found the 605R to be peppier overall and with more 'oomph' when hauling heavy cargo uphill. Also, I'm glad this beast of a truck has a 500 L petrol tank, because it drinks like an alcoholic. In the Flooded Foothills map, going to the warehouse in the north to bring 6 units of fuel to the Ore Sorting Center - not an incredibly huge distance if you look at the map - cost almost 350 L! I was starting to worry I wouldn't make it back to the garage… Despite these annoyances, I still think the 612H is a useful addition, especially for those maps with infuriating segments of deep snow, deep mud, thin ice, or all of them together. Loved the review, Ben. Keep up the absolutely underwhelming work! [wink wink] Cheers! //Rick
I can’t be the only one that hated the Derry Special with a passion. Hate it so much. At least this mastadon gives me something new to try, until they nerf it that is 😖
605R is still better for scouting and really harsh rough terrain, much more resistant to damage aswell. 612H is better for missions/hauling with its better diversity in add ons. The 612 feels way more powerful with its STORM engine. Its a VERY strong truck. Truly the only optional DLC so far that is genuinely game changing.
Hey Ben, hope all is good? I was really hoping for something special with this and it did not deliver. Mudrunner engine noise was much better, the generic parts bin does not suit it at all, and the general 'feel' of being unstoppable that it had in spintyres has gone. I miss this truck from the glory days, suppose I better go back to mudrunner. Keep smiling mate. Cheers!
