I know this is not a fair comparison. But these were the cymbals I had at the time. A little fun to compare expensive and cheap anyway Zildjian K pre aged dry light ride VS Sabian xs20 ride.
I think the most interesting point in this video is that they both sound fantastic to me in the correct setting. ( style of music) The price difference is like the difference in companies almost. Robert has given us economical options. Some of these lightly used cymbals are absolute classic's when building a kit on a budget.
The k is probaly better for jazz and that stuff while the xs20 is more for anything really and pesonally i like the xs20 ride!! It has a awesome bell...
I totally agree. I personally think overall the Sabian sounds much better than the over priced K. I have the Xsr series and to me they're a pro series cymbal at an affordable price.
You guys are kidding yourselves...the K was worlds better. The Sabian had little character, just a single high pitched overtone, whereas the K was more complex and musical.
Overrated? How? I personally am more of a Constantinople/Foundry Reserve guy, but I understand why K's or 602's are revered. Have you played some yourself?
Es una comparación un tanto injusta; K es gama alta y XS20 es gama media/alta; habría que comparar al ride K con un HH, HHX o Vault; aún así muy lindos platos ambos.
this is not really a fair "zildjian vs sabian" comparison cuz their putting a K series ride (zildjian's flagship line) against an affordable ride from sabian. personally though i like sabian for some of their cymbals like the OMNI and the fierce series.
Nobody plays with a nylon tip drumstick anymore?? You get way better ride definition with a nylon tip in my opinion. I've been playing pro for over 40 years now.
Why dont u just go and compare Hand hammered cymbals Turkey or a big named brand like Ziljians K Series and compare it to Carboard beat up with a hammer and a little chamoy on it see which one one sounds better
