I think the regular S family sound a little better (I've owned a set for about two years). My only complaint - well, observation - is that the ride cymbal is too warm.

I like the dryness of these cymbals. This is the first time in a long time I have found cymbals that remind me of my old Paiste Innovations but are a little drier. I prefer cymbals with a good attack and quick decay but also being somewhat dry. They get out of the way quickly. Awesome.

Why does everyone want crashes that sustain for ever? Whenever I record, that sustain bugs the hell out of me. Give me a crash that does its job and then gets out of the way. These are pretty perfect!

I like them too, better than the classics custom dark, I've been looking for an inexpensive dark set to use for playing heavier music on and this nails it.

i like the hats and ride. i would honestly try and stack the two crashes or tighten them to mute the after sound of the crash (if that makes sense) but i like the crashes lowkey, they’re different

Yesterday I went to a music store and tried this exact set of cymbals. The sound is horrible when you have them in front of you. I ended up buying the series.

A series was the best option for me. I understand that this is the dark series but they don't sound like the videos I've seen on RU-vid. They have a very different sound.

why do they always make the ride cymbal with a ping high enough to hurt ears. I love the crashes I work with low ping cymbals. this company does not have the ride the fits the low frequency of the ping

@@shanehaney2121 Just spent about 10 minutes A/Bing demo videos of the box sets of each the classics custom dark and the s series dark, both videos by memphis drumshop, same sizes, I prefer the sound of the zildjians for what Im after.

Crashes are too dry. Ride is meh than my preference. Hats I actually like. Overall I'll stick with my setup with a 20in K custom Dark Ride, 17in vintage A crash, 16in Sabian AA raw bell crash, 12in A New Beat hats, 14in stack, and 10in XS20 splash

I disagree. Meinl was eating their lunch. I prefer these Zildjian Hats & 22"Ride to the Meinl Dark Classics. Everything else Meinl rules in this line. Good job Zildjian.

These cymbals are trash. Theyre very dry and un responsive. They are dark but yet very dry, clangy, and tough not musical at all.

I just got them. They do sound slightly different then what they showed. They’re still pretty good cymbals and I’m not sure to them yet but to me the rides don’t sound the same. I don’t know though
