There you go ! You were one of the Dom Dose who was criticising the ANC the whole time... Do you think we don't read the comments ??? Dom Doos !!! Now that you are in bed with the ANC you all off a sudden sing a different tune !!! Onnosel Donner !!!
The DA predicted that the document would be needed years ago and put together the terms which could cover most eventualities and outcomes. The agreement obviously provides some structure, conditions and guidelines to protect the smaller parties in the coalition and there is nothing wrong with being prudent. Rules are needed to protect those which have helped the ANC to have another shot at governing. Hopefully, the GNU will employ competent people who have the interests of South Africa at heart. This will be a bumpy ride and as Helen Zille said in her interview it took the DA 10 plus years to get the Western Cape to have some form of order. Getting South Africa will take longer and we need to be realistic with our expectations and also be patient and supportive. The PA should be thankful because they do not have the experience of the DA the it comes to coalitions and we don't need people slowing this down.
They never said that. Gayton predicted this long ago. Where the hell did u get your info? You want me to link the videos where he said coalition is the way to go?? Sjoe...ignorance....
Here's the irony - the DA is raising clauses to hold people to principle but they signed a clause in that ActionSA coalition to not work with the ANC. AMNESIA struck on that one. 😂😂😂😂
stupid comment as they also signed an agreement in the moonshot pact that in the event that they didn't reach 50+1 they were all allowed to move away from the moon shot pact and do their own thing
@@e4superfly The stupid one here is you. One thing this election taught me is that DA supporters are as unprincipled as the parties they criticize. ANC must be removed from all spheres of governance. You won't admit it because you're as hypocritical as the DA. They're hiding behind this saviour complex so they can hop on the gravy train. I'll come back to remind you of this hypocrisy a few years from now...the same way I went back to remind all those in 2019 who told me Cyril would be a great president. The ANC is the ANC... a "GNU" won't change that.
@@e4superfly the stupid one here is you...the ANC must be removed from all spheres of governance as it was rejected by 60% of the electorate..this election taught me that DA supporters are just as unethical as the parties they criticize..but I'm a patient man...I shall be back to remind you a few years from now...just like i reminded all those in 2019 who told me Cyril would be a great president (boy were they wrong)...i know you little DA muppets think things will change because you'll get a few cabinet posts...you'll soon learn that you cannot jump into bed with the cadres and think they'll miraculously change their ways.
Remember DA's slogan a vote for the PA is a vote for the ANC. well well well look who is keeping the ANC in power. Those Moonshot pack were taken for mugs.
Politics are hard if PA doesn't have timing, they will be losers and laughed at as a new kid in the block, what i have seen so far is that everyone is flip flapping. Great respond could have been "we are going to consult the ANC not DA"
They caused a lot of probs in knysna. The biggest income every year for this town is the oyster vestival....with no water in this town that festival now stuck somewhere in the drain. This comes from people who wanna be politicians but have no clew how where the bell on the clock is.
Oh really? So all DAs propaganda of a vote for PA is vote for ANC was for nothing? PA was getting ready for this coalition years ago my friend. Dont you watch tv???😂
@@justinerasmus8725 Imagine electioneering on a vote for the PA is a vote for the ANC, yet a vote for the DA was in fact a vote for the ANC. Who was lying to their voters. PA was honest, they always said they would even go into coalition with the AWB if they get something for their people.
@@Tinker8531 Watch the Helen Zille interview. The point about voting for the many small parties being a vote for the ANC relates to the fact that all of these small parties never received sufficient support to get seats in parliament and if the voters clubbed together the opposition would have taken additional seats from the ANC. With additional seats the opposition would have had more leverage. For example Rise Mzanzi. It was a huge disappointment. The DA is being pragmatic. We need the GNU to work and if it does the masses will start believing that this is the way forward instead of the current situation where the scary ideology of the EFF creates division.
The PA consulted with the ANC and not the GNU. According to the GNU agreement that was signed between the ANC, DA and IFP you needed to consult the GNU. If you don't like it, take your place in the opposition.

If PA had enough votes they might have a good say in the matter...don't be a bad looser.
All politicians talk a lot, and they are all foolish. Just look at Helen Zille. She's all over the place, and you will swear she was just released from somewhere
Why doesn't this guy and Gayton McKenzie put their ego aside and just work together to fix the country! The DA are still the 2nd biggest party and have the track record to improve this country. Gayton has quite openly said he will go where the power and money is and that is the problem. Their principles and morals are in question, but saying Helen Zille is arrogant and not working in the interest of the people of this country is just ridiculous.
What this PA fool doesn't understand is that Mbalula signed the contract that hinders him from taking decisions without consulting the DA and the IFP ,PA is not the part of the deal its just the bunch of hungry people, finish and klaar
Im watching all the comments from DA people and being black and having voted DA im starting to see that maybe whats being said that they are intolerant and racist is starting to sit on me SAD, was i wrong 😢
If you go into marriage with someone, you might have everything going in: money, house, cars. But if you go around telling people you are the "anchor partner" in the marriage. Giving the impression that you are special. That marriage has no future. Settle your differences behind closed doors, have a spokesperson that will speak in one voice. This will bring the voters into confidence. So far only the IFP looks matured enough.
So, how much input did PA have into producing the document? PA riding on DA coat tails and overestimating their importance. I think Zille may be wrong on her views/math around concensus, however, I think she's quite clear on the text and intent.
Im watching all the comments from DA people and being black and having voted DA im starting to see that maybe whats being said that they are intolerant and racist is starting to sit on me SAD, was i wrong 😢????? Maybe the ANC must ditch DA cos right now I don't trust you people
@@faithing88 Why racist? All I see is people disagreeing on what the words in the document say. You made a good choice. Why would you keep voting for the ANC or MK who has been stealing from the people and failed to deliver anything.
Helen Zille is a bully. She must not think she will come with her apartheid mentality here just because she has issues with McKenzie now that she wants to make everything about her. This is not her country. @@truth-Hurts375
That question has already been answered by Helen Zille in a recent interview. She understands the difficulties of coalitions and perhaps one can learn from her response.
@@BonganiRaahMsweliYou and your masters will only govern the day you achieve the outright majority vote. Who in their right mind gives a 20% party a chance to govern?
@@yvonnememela918 Agreed, because of the expectations of the individuals in the various parties. Furthermore, there are only a few senior positions (Cabinet Ministers etc) on offer and more than a few ambitious individuals. In the interview Helen Zille mentioned why coalitions expired in the past. Not saying that it is going to be easy but the ANC don't have an option. They have to go into a coalition with one party/grouping or another. If this does not work they will have to either attempt to make up with EFF and MK or run a minority government which will be shut down after a vote of no confidence. There are incentives for all in the GNU to make it work.
It doesn't matter that 2% made them go and represent the voters in parliament. That 2% are South Africans that went out to vote, and they voices matter too.
*It sound more to me Zille want what is best for SA and its people the PA doesnt qualify for that position' PA flip flop tooooo much in situasions ( circumstance ) they did it in the past what will stop PA now from doing it again ( SA cannot afford their incompotance ) however the clause do state the parties must agree at all times on the same thing before a answer is reached* *DANC must at all times agree on everything they cannot work seperately* *PA got 9 seats ( DA got 87 seats and ANC 159 ( I hope people is seeing my point)*

And Mbalula the other side he got what he deserves. They both have same energy which they use for unnecessary!! South Africans are struggling, and they are busy yes, yep. Banezothe
Have people watched that Helen interview cos they only respondind to it. It was Zille who said they are founders of this GNU and no one will enter without them accepting. Question is why should there be founders if you are uniting cos now that sounds mire like a coalittion. It seems like DA won elections cos they want to run the show.
@@WilliamPulles Correct and the fact that they had the foresight to predict that this was coming and to draft the document to protect the minority parties in the coalition is to be commended. They have helped speed up the process of getting the GNU to work. Imagine if the coalition had to appoint a committee to draft an agreement. 6 months down the line the government would still not be operational. If changes are needed they can presumably still be made but it is the basis to work from. The DA are completely right in informing the ANC what is needed for a coalition to work. We have all in the past seen the ANC in parliamentary sessions ignore facts which did not suit them, protect incompetent cabinet ministers etc. This will not work in a coalition and they needed to be told this up front by someone with experience of coalitions. People just don't like the very competent messenger because she is a white jewish woman with a better understanding of South African politicians than most.
Nothing wrong with second chances and forgiveness. But It must be earned and shown. Sometimes doing more for others is better not to demand but show togetherness helpful acts. Little goes long way.
The agreement between the ANC, DA and IFP was finalised BEFORE the parliament elected the speaker and president. It was on the completed agreement that the DA and IFP voted for speaker and president. That finished agreement cannot be diluted now by adding extra parties. It's a breach of the original agreement. Helen Zille is right!
Charles, you guys need to refrain from putting the cart before the horse. You yourself, is coming across as arrogant and condescending. South Africa wants leaders who will work towards reconciliation and unity. Your own ego has been triggered here for all to see. Very disappointing.

Helen Zille must stop with her apartheid mentality. That votes you talking about is people's votes that matters just like your 1 vote. DA is a racist party like you that undermines other people's votes.
The other problem here ANC consulted these other parties at the same time it consulted the DA, relatively. However these other parties behaved like prima donnas and the ANC had to look for adults in the room and they find the DA..The timing was also of issue as prescribed by the constitution and DA understood that and others didn't.
@@freddiemmc9251 Spot on. Helen Zille has a better understanding of what drives the South African vote than 99.9% of South African people and she has the ability to articulate it. People mistake her desire to see things work properly as hunger for power. She still makes very relevant and pertinent points. At least she never waffles.
Everything about this shows how smart Hellen really is - y'all can scream and shout but this is a grand coalition between the DA and the ANC. The IFP is just a front. The 60% clause was wisely inserted by Helen to give the DA VETO power knowing that the ANC of Ramaphosa wouldn't understand it. She has said "it's not the PA per se ... that we object to, it's the principle" and she is right. If Mbalula keeps adding parties in their coalition that effectively lowers the 60% and Helen sees through that - of course Mbalula still doesn't understand that that's what he's doing. JZ is asking them to stop calling this what it is not and if they were to agree then they may find that loosening the grip Hellen has on their balls. But hey, make no mistake about this - we, the people (MKP), are enjoying this; so go ahead Helen get a tighter grip. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The MKP is not the people. It is the party of a percentage of the people based on the traditional vote for an individual who has numerous skeletons in his closet and nearly brought South Africa to its knees. The votes received were by those not disgruntled with corruption but those who chose a faction in the ANC. The real people who matter are those who want good governance and South Africa to prosper. Bye Bye corruption, waste of money and ineffective government.
I think GNU partners should stay away from public commentary because they contradict each other everytime they open their mouths. They should appoint one spokesperson who will deal with all external communications.
I think it is less of a contradiction than people trying to impart how they believe a coalition should work. The parties have different objectives and expectations. Normal course of events at this early stage.
I'm surprised! After the fall the apartheid regime, I thought no white politician would be elected for any political position in South Africa! For sure, Mr Mandela did a good job in in bringing about the reunification of the country, forgiving the oppression suffered by the black community. (gilberto lehrer -- brasil)
If GNU concensus is based on the 3 founding parties, the ANC has 60% of the share, which leaves the concensus clause redundant and the DA without any power.
@WilliamPulles my assessment is based on media interviews. I don't believe the document has been made public yet, so please feel free to share since clearly you have a copy.
Your comments are without any substance. Watch her interview on BIZNews and then tell me she does not have South Africas interest at heart. She has a better understanding of South African politics than most. Your comment is simply based on the fact that she practices Judaism and it is completely discriminatory.
Gayton is a true leader with a heart for the people and that's what we need. Our country needs to be fixed by people with humanity and not by racist comments with a bad heart and attitude. PA and ANC agreed in things way before DA came into the picture. People can't accept what's happening but they should.
The ANC has been successfully split into three, because black people are easily aggrieved, they can just as easily be divided and be managed on the basis of same. However, nothing changes if nothing changes, and the collective votes of the ANC and its two breakaway parties (MK and EFF) amount to the same 65+ percent support it has always had, infact, the “traditional” ANC vote is the two thirds majority which has never escaped black leadership, even in the context of current developments. The arrangement which the ANC currently has with the DA is not in the interest of national unity, it’s an arrangement which advances the interests of a minority represented by a party which seeks to sneak itself into the Union Buildings after demonstrating no material growth and gaining not much more than 20 percent of the vote. Despite having lost its majority, the ANC still got twice the amount of votes as the DA got, about three times the amount of votes the MK go and more than 4 times the amount of votes the EFF did; the ANC is very firmly positioned to dictate the terms of any partnership it seeks to enter into but in this instance, it appears as though the ANC has entered into an agreement which has been crafted by the DA and not the ANC itself, this is indicated through the DA’s ability to invoke a certain open ended clause in the so called GNU agreement, which renders the term “unity” expendable by limiting the ANCs prerogative to invite additional members into what is increasingly looking less cooperative and more supervisory. Fikile Mbalula should account to branches of the ANC on how we find ourselves in a grossly undermined position, owing to his dereliction.
You just don't get it and have once again resorted to the old issue of racist politics. It nearly brought the country to its knees. The DA are not controlling the coalition. Watch the Helen Zille interview. The DA saw this coming and were proactive and the coalition parties now have the benefit of a proposed agreement which can help a coalition to work. The agreement protects the minority parties in the coalition. We have seen the country going downhill in the past 15 years because the majority party had the prerogative to ignore relevant facts, to protect incompetent cabinet ministers and choose cadre employment. Stop your fear-mongering. The majority have the means to stay in power due to numbers and that can't change. Those wise amongst the majority ignore the paranoia of "sneaking into the union buildings". We just need to appoint the right people into positions of authority. People who will make the right decisions, stop corruption and inappropriate government spending, hold people accountable and create the right economic environment for South Africa to prosper and attract investment. The team who have been at the helm for the past 15 years never managed that and many of the culprits are now in the breakaway factions because they have been removed. The height of insanity is to do the same thing and expect different results. Hopefully, the GNU will really show an interest in the well-being of South Africa and its people.
