Greetings extended family!
So Gambians like celebrating Eid (Koriteh) for 3 days and not just 1 lol!
There are so many activities to take part of during these days - one of them being the Zimba masquerade show.
Zimba is from the Wolof tribe and it's a form of a masquerade dance performance. These festivals the zimbas part take in are often held on the street of residential areas.
The prizes of the show can vary, the one we attended costs 25 dalasis. Many children attend it as well, those who don't buy a ticket can be chased away and threatened to be beaten by the Zimba.

In Senegal we don't say 'zimba' but we say "simba", the game of the false lion that chases the on-lookers ! A real show, indeed! Anyhow we share our Senegambian culture! God bless Senegambia :-)

God bless Senegambia indeed! The culture originated from Senegal and the Wolof tribe - that's what my Grandma said ! But yeah, there are sooo many similarities between the countries ! One love 😍
