I've been doing all my tyre changes for a number of years now. Changing tyres is easier if it's a warm day, or if you warm the tyres up before doing the work. I've got a simple bead breaker machine, so that's never a problem. Zip ties work really well - the more you change tyres, the easier it gets, but don't try do the work when the tyres are really cold....they're a b*stard to work with when cold !!
Gr8 vid, I enjoy your z900 related vids. I once changed my tires the same way you did with zip ties, many yrs ago. I used a big c clamp to break the beads, simple, but very time consuming. Putting the tires on, I scratched my rims a little. After that I rather paid others to do it...😂😂😂 Ride safe, god bless u.
Apart from tyres it's going to be a loooong time till you get any MOT advisories on the Kawa. I bought a 2001 Honda CBR600F4i two years ago, slung on a new pair of Battlax T32s and it has sailed through two MOTs without any advisories - even with the original rubber brake hoses. Enjoyed your videos and am catching up on your past content - thanks!
The guy told me that many bikes fail because they turn up with small, illegal number plates!! But I think you're right, it should sail through for a few more years. Glad you like the channel.
I don't service as i like to get the stamps in the book. As for the rear wheel, yeah it's a nightmare! Prop the wheel up at the correct height and plenty of grease to 'stick' the shims in place. Still not easy.
