These are great! I've made a few in sturdy backpack-weight nylon, with grosgrain ribbon for pull-tabs at each end, and parachute cord knotted on the zipper pulls. They make great gifts for my outdoorsy friends!
Have made a couple dozen of these in a large size, using double zippers with an exterior pull tab on either end. I use iron-on vinyl for the interior for waterproofing. They make great gifts!
Thank you sew much .I am new to sewing bags usually making quilts .These are so fun. Oh by the way you are a very pretty lady and give such detailed instructions.
This is the perfect gift! Easy and fast. I'll learn how to sew in a curved zipper which I have avoided. Question: what weight interfacing do you use? Thank you!
This is beautiful, thank you so much! Going to try one and hopefully it comes out nice enough for me to make as gifts, especially for my granddaughters. Oh when you print out the pattern, do you have to cut or piece anything together? Can someone direct me to a tutorial on printing patterns? I can print them i just dont know if you need to piece them together. I didnt start seeing till age 63 and im 64 1/2 now (😂), but ive sewn some pretty cool things. Cant wait to try this! 🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻
I know it's a year later but only the xlarge one you have to tape together to get a complete pattern. I just made all four sizes found on the template PDF. So fun. and Easy. I hope you figured it out!! They were fun to make!
So kind of you to share these 'taco' pouch patterns and accompanying tutorial....thank you....adorable fabric too!! My eyes are drawn to the lovely quilt displayed to the right back....center block with flying geese...primary colors....do you have a pattern available for this particular quilt and tutorial Cindy and name of fabric please?
Nope. They provide only the templates but no materials list and the instructions state only to watch the tutorial. Here are the fabric and zipper requirements I calculated. You’ll need 2 pieces of fabric (exterior and lining), 1 piece of fusible interfacing, and if you want to cover the raw edges inside, 2 pieces of binding tape. It does not have to be bias binding. XL (not shown): fabric/interfacing 16”x21”, 24” zipper, binding pcs 2” x 10” L: fabric/interfacing 12” x 18”, 20” zipper, binding pcs 2”x8” M: fabric/interfacing 10” x 10”, 16” zipper, binding pcs 2” x 6” S: fabric/interfacing 10” x 10”, 14” zipper, binding pcs 2” x 6” I am generous on the binding because I hate fighting with it. You could probably go smaller and still be successful. The small and medium are very similar in size. I hope that helps you.
Zipper is 14" - 24" depending on the pouch size. Download the pattern here: www.rileyblakedesigns.com/assets/images/freepatterns/videos/TacoPouchTemplate.pdf
@@kellymorris8088 Actually, the fabric I'm interested in is the floral on the largest pouch. I took a look at that collection but that fabric doesn't seem to be in the Tea with Bea collection.
Cheater method: I don’t always use a zipper foot. What I do is move the needle setting so that it’s sewing closer to the zipper teeth. I can do this only on some projects. On some, it doesn’t work.
