Great video, But I never understood why people thought that zippos came filled. I mean, all you have to do is look at it, and you will see that it is by no means air tight. I once saw a review on amazon where a guy gave the zippo one star. He said they were too dangerous because it lit up when he struck it. It turns out that in the picture, he had used butane gas, and had tried to fill it where the spare flint goes. Don't be that guy if you are new to zippos, lol. Also, if the insert is scratched, it doesn't mean you zippo has been used, they just come like that.
@@ZippoFanatic77 That's cool. Now you can make some side money. Hopefully one day you will be the " zippo guy" on youtube, kind of like cutlery lover of zippos? Anyways, that is cool though. Do you know how much you make? It's on views isn't it?
People on Amazon will complain their brass lighter aged. “Poor quality no more gold all gone”, duh it’s brass you have to polish it with a jewelry rag every once in a while to keep it shiny.
Dude I’m a beginner beginner type deal lol, this vid is great, didn’t even know that the flints would go bad, I mean I just took my flints out of my good zippos that I let sit for months on end, however I also don’t know how long they will stay good for, didn’t want to take any chances, rather just put a good flint in when I need to use it
Would love to know how long the flints stay good for, I took mine out just because I just learned they go bad from this video! Thank you man! Should make a video showing the difference between all the different finishes and kinds and even the “evolutions” of them over the years if you will
Top tip - when you get a new can of lighter fluid, take a knife and cut off that annoying 'childproof' tab on the plastic nozzle housing. You will then be able to refill your lighter without needing a tool to flip the nozzle up! Disclaimer: don't do this if there are children around who might mess around with your lighter fuel ;-)
