So when did they change the 1941 base stamp? I have a three of black crackle 1941s F 20 H 20 J 20 all have pat numbers ! I won't buy anymore in case I get a 1941 replica stamped version!
What a pity they have changed the stamp on the base as 1941 replica! In place of the pat number? I'm not sure what year this happened, though?? I have a 2020 and that still has the numbers!
Ive only just started buying Zippos a year ago. I have 3. One sentimental, which was my first until the lid seemed loose then i bought my first official one a plain metallic zippo. Do you have any advice for what i can do or where i can go to get the fixture between the lid and the body of the zippo repaired or replaced? Any tools i need to do it myself? Its the only thing i cant fix or improve on a zippo so far and im hoping to find a way haha
Other thing is the ferrocerium rod WILL wear out. So get a BAYITE 1/2 by 6 inch Ferro rod off Amazon and a decent stiff hard striker or knife with a 90 degree spine, learn firecraft. 😂
hi love this every time i try to make the solution i have to keep ajusting the vdc and amp and cant get the green sloution the nickel plates are well worn can you adivse
Im from the uk. I was lucky enough to visit Niagara in 1990 when I was 11. I remember the giant Zippo neon sign. Because we have a Bradford in the UK I asked my Father if Zippo was America. I think this was what got me into the brand. 😁
Hello, the best ‘Zippo clones’ are the STARLIGHTERS USA, these STARs have the highest quality and also BRASS cases!😁 I have STARLIGHTERS USA with mother-of-pearl inlays, STARLIGHTERS USA with highly polished brass cases and also with gemstone inlays!😄
That’s interesting I made a nickel sulfate solution and used platinum as an inert anode. It’s a little different but matches my needs. I like this for common applications though!
I've never really used Ronsonol so I can't say if what he says about the two fluids is true but I can say absolutely 💯 that cheap flights or flints from a Bic not only do they not harm your lighter they work fantastically! Almost all my Zippos light on the first strike! If it functions perfectly and it doesn't harm your lighter there's nothing wrong with them! I've gotten play Zippo Flint's once or twice in my life and it's just not worth it! Zippos are fantastic and they don't need Zippo Flint to remain so. Anybody can try it I promise it's not going to hurt her lighter. Anyways most likely the only difference is the paint on the outside of the Flint they put their to prevent oxidation
Is that thing about the flints is bullshit! I've got 12 or 13 Zippos and have used the Zippo Flint's now I don't buy Flint's I remove them from Bic lighters that I find dead! You get two flints out of one dead bitch you will never have a problem and it is absolutely not true
But if you put an o ring around that fill valve the gas wont spit out when its full.. it wont leak around it either when filling.. i use a little o ring from old grill lighters or something.. if you take apart a regular lighter they got tiny o rings in em..
I dunno what your talking about the single flame issue. Ive used it straight from the factory for over a year constantly refilling daily and only issue ive had is the jet clogging from the crap butane i put in it.. but a little acetone and a pokey something and cleans it right out. The double one i had issues with the igniter on it sparking to the body. I used a piece of mylar from an old hairdrier to insulate it and has worked fine since.. ive also never bled either. Dunno about air getting in em.. and i run em till they die everytime..
Had one of these given to me in 2002 ,even though i have never smoked! I never knew it was such a controversial model? I do remember the box said ' vintage series' though! This zippo is still in my kitchen drawer. I never part with gifts! I will have to get some fuel and see if it works? Never know when you may need to light some candles?
I recently got on a Zippo kick and ordered three from Amazon after getting one locally. One of the three from Amazon says, "Special Edition". What does that mean and how do I verify that it's fact?
Use a small sliver of metal identical to BASE material of the case (regardless of external finish) to slightly elevate the Zippo insert and reduce cap wiggle. Glue it in to bottom of the case (suggest e6000 glue) and case lid wiggle problem is greatly reduced. Done.
Ok, I followed his tutorial on tightening the hinge and that broke my lighter, and I was understandably pissed at this dude but this video fixed it. Thanks buddy, I apologise for thinking wrong of you because I understand now where I went wrong while tightening 8:31 the hinge.
Hey friend, how do you remove the rivets from the wheel to basically do what you have done but removing the old wheel and putting a new one on? I have the idea of how you put it on, but how would you remove it?
