Zippo Collection UPDATE - My 2014 Zippo Haul 

My dad passed away when I was 15. A year or so later I found a zippo he had when he was in the navy. Im 52 years old now and I have over 100 new never used Zippos and the collection is still growing. LOVE YOU DAD.

I just bought one more today....all brass including the insert....add to my collection...all 4 Zippos since 1994.

Though I don't smoke I have a couple of zippo lighters that I obtained through the years. I still use one of them alot for what ever I need to light. I love this product.

35:15 also if the flint was red it was a ronson flint which used to be zippo's competitor, but zippo bought them out. Same thing with ronson's fluid (ronsonol)

I'm fairly certain in saying that you're, at least, 1/2 my age....I've been collecting vintage lighters for 35+ years. You've got some GREAT examples here, but I would encourage you to go for vintage, rather than modern pieces. The modern stuff is mass produced, as apposed to their vintage lighters, obviously...The modern pieces will likely be at a premium price when you're an old Man. Heck, your Grand-kids will be lucky if they get good prices for them in the future. That's a result of mass production, and you should look into obtaining some more vintage pieces while you're actively collecting. I don't want this to come off as "preaching" to you, but I've learned a wealth of knowledge over the years, and like to pass it on to younger, passionate collectors that have that same sparkle in their eyes as I once did.....Think Pre 70's MIB, Big Name advertising....That's where it's at ! Trust me ! :).....You might chuck this off now, but in 10-15 years you'll ponder & confirm to yourself "That old dude was right!" :) Cheers, Vinny

I picked up a lighter when i was in Germany in the 70's at some auction selling store and bought a lighter that Rudolf Hess used! One of Hitler's Hench men. Paid pretty much. But I collect Zippo's. And I almost got one that Humphrey Bogart once owned in another country! But they wanted way too much, only $12,000.00....way too much for me!

the case and the insert dont always match they are usually a few months off

P.S.......Someday soon I'll post a video of my collection, but it will be still shots of what I've obtained over the many years. Slideshow style, with perhaps a music track in the back. :) I've yet to post a video on RU-vid, but I imagine I'll be getting quite a few offers on the many different examples I have to share. However, none of them will be for sale...Even though I'm getting older, I still appreciate the hobby. Nice clip, by the way.....Liked. :)

3:14 he could have used ronsoil ( excuse my spelling I'm only 13 ) but the have wicks and lighter fluid with is most people's go to because from what I've noticed it is a little cheaper

You had to be 21 to buy that lighter??????? THATS CRAZY! Im 12, I am starting a collection. I was able to buy 2 zippos and like I said I'm 12. And no, my dad wasn't with me. Its just a state law that there is no age restriction on the purchase of lighters.

Talks about not wasting time but takes 7.41 minutes to get through 2 Zippos wouldn't be surprised if the whole video was just 5 Zippos
