I inherited a couple of Zippo’s, one a brass engraved USA 50th anniversary and another brushed steel pipe lighter. Really interesting video, subbed your channel. Might have to add an Armor to my collection. Thanks for sharing. All the best from Scotland 🏴. Garry
You are right about warmer temperatures causing fluid to evaporate faster. I find that keeping it in my pocket keeps it warmer and I have to fill it much faster than the ones I keep out in my room, even when they get the same usage. Direct sunlight also warms the lighter quickly.
I use Flitz metal polish and super shined my Marlboro brass to a mirror finish 400--1000 grit sand paper. U have great Zippo videos btw. I have learned a lot from them. Thank you...
Make sure to check out the new Zippo Fanatic 77 Outdoors channel as this old one was hacked. Just search in the youtube search bar and be sure to include the new outdoor part. He's back! Let's help him get the channel rebuilt!
I use jewlers rouge, and jewelry cloths on my user Zippos. Brass , silver , copper,. I find that a good jeweler cloth makes hp chrome really slick and shiny and keeps scratches to a minimum...BTW like your vids!🤙
Got the cheap zippo offered by turning in Marlboro box tops. One offered was a tarnished copper. Didn’t like the tarnish so I used steel wool and buffed it out nicely. The reason I ask is I also got a polished brass from the box tops as well, but the polished aspect is similar to the one shone in this vid and with what you show here I think the etching from their polishing process would be lost if I took steep wool to it. Suggestions for scratches on the brass?
Thanks for the zippo tips there come in handy when I polish my vintage brass zippo . Where I’m at the winters are mild but still cold enough to get a good amount of snow . But the summers are muggy 95 degrees With humidity so bad you can see it in the air and don’t get me started on the bird sized mosquitos we have in the summer lol anyway I love cold weather . Still gotta send my armor in to get replaced now that I’m back I will mail it probably on Monday . Thanks again for the video .
I stay in Mumbai, it’s super hot here. The fuel lasts like 5 days max. But I should probably change my cotton. Why does changing the cotton make a difference?
Just getting back into zippos. Found my old slim silver one from about 30 years ago! It's a Niagra Falls version, as I live in Saskatoon. Just had to ask, as you said they are rare, is it valuable? I should clarify, I'm sure it's just chrome, not silver, but polished. Has the I and the V markings on the bottom. Thanks!
Hey bud I’d be happy to answer any of questions on my new channel the one I’m commenting from. I lost this one bro to hackers could really use the support on the new one.
I just got my first zippo yesterday and I had a few questions like should you carry a nice zippo daily like a shiny one that’s engraved and everything and how often should I clean it, and how long will it last if I take very good care of it.
Would u recommend clear coating chrome zips and or silver plate or armor Sterling silver zips? Would you mind making a video about clear coating silver & chrome? Thanks zf.
Being from Canada as youare...i was wondering if you have come across a VP military zippo (P.P.C.L.I.)...I did have one but lost it many years ago. Would you happen to know where I'd have the best luck in finding a replacement?
I live in Texas and I do own zippos no I don’t smoke but I have family members who so I only add fluid on occasions like if there’s a party or some but it does last a week and a half
I’ve bought used Zippos and ended up chipping out the oxidized flints in them which leads me to a question. Is it best to store a ‘closest queen’ Zippo (one I’m ‘never’ going to use) without the flint in it? Maybe the newer flints don’t oxidize but I dread the notion of taking out a brand new one that’s been sitting for several years & deciding to use it only to find that I’ll need to clear the flint tube first.
Just wondering if you might know anything about Zippos electric hand warmer/power banks? I used a butt load of Marlborough miles to get one "free" and Marlborough sent me a piece of 5#!+ that flat doesn't work and they couldn't care less.. terrible customer service.. no exchange no points back....So, do you know if there's any kind of warranty on them? Took forever to get those codes since I don't smoke Marlborough 🤷🏼♀️. If you get a chance hit me up and clue me in cool? ✌
I there. I have a sentimental Zippo. Its a normal (non-armour) street chrome zippo. Its got quite a bit of scratches from going through ALOT. when the lit hits on it at the right angle you can see the brass starting to become visible in some of the scratches. how would I go about fixing this? If not how can I prevent the problem worsening
Any tips for cleaning the spark wheel? Mines gunked up and while it will throw sparks it's a pain to get it to do so without a few spins where it finds a bare spot that isn't gunked up.
@@ZippoFanatic77 Awesome, I JUST got back from the dentist for my 6 month checkup and they ALWAYS give you a toothbrush..I use an Oral B electric brush so the one they gave me is perfect for this, nice and clean. Thanks man!
@@ZippoFanatic77 i see. I'll just probably use another insert then.hehe. but for curiosity i would love to fix it myself. I hope you can make a video on how to installl a new rivet like the hollow ones. :)
can you help me how to maintenance zippo slim properly??? because mine doesn't fire i already refill it with lighter fluid with exact amount of fluid but it doesn't fire i already change the wick and flint and clean it with rubbing alcohol all parts
