It seems like they want to milk money from zippo fans, does it upset you when you buy brand new zippo but if insert doesnt sit tightly in case and very loose?
@@Zippofanatic77outdoors if you seal the bottom with a bag to save as much fuel as possible it indeed sits tightly but without the bag it's very loose the new lighter I just got.. it bothers me because every time I open the lighter when bag isn't inside insert goes little bit higher each time but I don't know why you wouldn't use bag anyway if you want to save some fuel. I hope zippo's quality doesn't start to drop every company that start milking money from fans their products quality drop down eventually too. Are you afraid of it happening too?

I agree with you 100 percent man. After collecting Zippos for a solid year, I reached my limit with these new price gouges with Zippo. I don't understand how an American company can rip off consumers especially in this economy. I can't see how anyone can support this nonsense.

I am looking forward to eventually getting my poker chip zippo, although expensive it’s an armour and it’s deep cut carving and I really like it have too get a fuel canister too just for the fact that I don’t have one, I love the look of a lot of the zippos, black ice, ebony, the poker chip, the red metallic, and regular old high polish chrome, I TOTALLY fucking agree that zippo is suuuuper pricey and they need to drop it down for Canadians and other countries, im Canadian and I know for a fact that the price for some pieces are fucking insane!🤷🏻 but that one poker chip zippo is the only zippo that would probably go into my vault as a RARE use case considering the price
A Silver Maple Leaf currently costs $29 and weighs one troy ounce (31.1 grams). The Zippo insert should weigh around 27 grams without fuel. A Zippo weighs 57 grams, so the WHOLE case weighs 30 grams. These 30 grams are then replaced with silver and sold for $438 (full silver version). For that money I could buy 15 shiny Maple Leafs. That's a rip-off. And in the bimetal version, around 12-13 grams are replaced by silver. For the $300 I could buy 10 shiny Maple Leafs, which is 311 grams (10 troy ounces) of silver.

Two words, Galvanic corrosion. Silver and copper do not mix. You would think the people designing these things would know the slightest thing about the material they are using. Hard pass on this one.

Here in Spain is a litle worse. It cost around 430 US $, honestly i prefer buy 5 or 10 zippo lighters with different design, or 2 mazzi models and a couple of ww2 75th anniversary 41 replica for that price.
AGREED!!! On ALL points. That'd be MAYBE an ounce of copper and a half ounce of 92.5% silver...so it's not even PURE silver, which COULD get across the border without duties and taxes. Remember: 99.9% or higher gold ans silver are TAX AND DUTY FREE!!!

I have to say that I love zippos, but recently i have been seeing way more creative design ideas in zippo's knockoffs (like Zorro) than in the Zippo brand itself.
Yeah I’m on the same boat as u. Yes zippo does have some really nice designs. But they are far and few between compared to the amount of designs they release in a year.
I thought these might be worth something someday. I found one for $220 and I’ve thought about buying it but after this I think I’ve changed my mind. The big thing I wanted in this one is the copper is high polished while I have the limited solid copper and it’s brushed
Yeah u can buff your brushed to a high polish easily. Pretty sad zippo said they would offer copper in the regular line up if the copper pre production did well. It did do well and instead we get the this massive price gouge

Also notice they put specific stamps on the bottom one says copper sterling the other says sterling copper switched places. This is to try and keep people from doing what you said about buying one of each and switching the tops.

The main zippos that I’m interested in are the ones that get customized in Japan. They are all expensive-ish, but weeb nation calls to me. Do you have any suggestions where to buy the anime related zippos besides eBay or Amazon? I certainly wouldn’t buy this for $300, but I do really want a solid silver (potentially armor).
Yeah my buddeh got a copper 41 from there with copper 41 insert. Was really nice. I’ve seen a lot of the Japanese customs. Very nice stuff. Yeah I’d def get the armor silver I love it. But a nice cheaper option is also the 41 silver. Which I also have and love. I’m not sure bud. I could do some anime custom

That bimetal zippo just looks like they ran out of ideas, all the Sterling zippos I've come across are outrageously priced, I have antique sterling silver candle stick holders and they were about as much as a sterling zippo and contain exponentially more silver in those candle stick holders than a zippo case, the difference is the candle stick holders are worth their weight in silver
I don’t mind it at all. Actually think it’s cool looking but for the price point I’m 100% out. If it was high polish chrome and copper for say $50-$60 I’d be more on it.

That’s a joke. And it’s going to include their horrible insert that leaks. Wish they would let you pick the casing then the option to choose an insert but have to go to ebay to do that. They’re getting greedy and that sucks. And lately I’ve leaning towards collecting clipper lighters instead.

For the price they are offering these new zippos it’s not worth buying them in the slightest, there is only like 1 or two that I want that are pricey, the poker chip armour zippo, and also ebony and black ice, but the prices on ebony and black ice are nowhere near as bad as the poker chip one or even these ones for a matter of fact
Yeah the high prices in Canada is because of our distributor which is Hyde distribution in Niagara Falls. They order them and want to make money off it. Ordering directly from zippo USA they already made the money on it and u get it cheaper. I order all mine through American friends or directly from eBay USA. Expensive shipping but make a big order and it works out better
