Ziyu He, 16, China Menuhin Competition #London2016 Senior Finals Dvorak Violin Concerto in A minor, Op. 53 Royal Academy of Music Symphony Orchestra Christopher Warren-Green (conductor) Filmed by Black Swan Film & Video
He plays SO WONDERFUL!!! What a soulful sound he has, how outstanding is his technique and how much fire and love he has for this beautiful music...I'm myself professional violinist and I'm REALLY impressed. This is absolutely not a case of 'for his age he is good'. This guy is in every perspective able to be compared with the greatest violinists worldwide. I wish him that he will be able to keep his love and passion for playing the violin.. He has to give such a lot. Absolutely stunningly awesome!
Dvorak Violin Concerto in A minor 1st Movement Allegro Ma non troppo 0:43 2nd Movement Adagio Ma non troppo 12:14 3rd Movement Allegro Giocoso ma non troppo 23:10
Don’t learn it, it does nothing but distract you and make you have tension. If you really feel the music from the inside you don’t need it. You must have a smart teacher.
Yes. But why is the audio level so low? this causes extra distortion in piano passages, where the level is less than 1% of full volume and therefore the resolution is only a few bits, causing excess staircase distortion?
I think if we already know that he is only 16 our judgement of his playing will be influenced by that fact. How much more can he improve? I don't know. Sometimes winning a major contest tends to make some players believe they have reached their peak and they slack off on the study and practice. It happens in a lot of life's endeavors.
He is an amazing extraordinary talented player but I think the violin itself is of not so good quality. His sound could be more powerful if he had good Violin
An Amati with great sound at least... please invest well as he has done with his hearing and hard work plus passionate learning....it will improve the value of the instrument with this level of playing daily... the real destiny of those violins ! not rich toys or investment items only...
@@alexhelms507 Menuhin seniors division winners get a 1-year loan of a Strad. Idk if he’s been loaned another one since then or not, though. Given his pedigree and accolades, I’m sure he won’t have any troubles getting his hands on one.
Wonderful violinist. The only crirticism I can make is that his sound lacks some richness. His vibrato stays the same throughout the piece and is a bit narrow.
Truly amazing, wow. However....the tone of his violin is too dark and mellow for solo. He needs a better, brighter sounding instrument with more projection. A Stradivari perhaps? lol
No, it's your perception and your expectations. Of course the skills of the winners vary from one competition to the next, but IMO that is not the basis for generalisation :) No offense intended...
Now let's get some perspective here, shall we. Performers in these competitions are better than almost anybody else in the world. His Paganini is better than almost anybody in the world who has not made it into these amazing competitions. He is 16!!!!
