@@PeterAndersons I remember as a kid watching some silly tv show series in the mid 80’s and the Dad was working on an old car and wasn’t using jack stands. Car fell of course and killed the guy. I think about it every single time I jack up a car and also put the wheel I take off under the sill too. It’s the same with springs and I decompress them like you with spring horizontal and always use hand tools for feel too. I’m no mechanic, but my uncle is a retired mechanic and I spent a lot of time in his workshop. He said the best advice I can give you about working is yes it’s important to get the job done right and in a timely manner, but the most important job is doing safe and returning home every day

Thanks for the advice! yes I had forgotten to mention the shaft adjustment in the follow up video, so I'll have to research it and do it cheers.
