Miami had Slip n Slide records...Trick Daddy's first album came out in 1997. Uncle Luke and The 2 Live Crew started poppin in the early 80s. JT Money was big in 1999! (Edit: Raise the Roof:1997. Naan Nigha and Shut Up 1998. Who Dat 1999!) You disrespected them all by saying Miami had no rap scene in the late 90s. Otherwise nice video.
Me being Born in the Bahamas and raised in Miami Haitians are the most loyal lethal and best friends I ever had. Salute to Haiti it wasn't easy for y'all I know. Big luv and respect always. Plus Miami had trick daddy Jt money Trina uncle Luke and underground artist like house of fire, lost tribe, quick hit records, p.o.d, Minnie mob, under pressure,Piccalo... making noise on the music scene in the late 90's
We've been manipulated to fight each other from the very beginning. The last thing white supremecists wanted to see was a slave rebellion turn into it's own country so we've been getting hate for it since.
Hey man this is a great video. Me being from carol city I know a lot of Zoe’s but I gotta tell you man. You missed the fact that we had trick daddy taking over since the 90’s
Bro i love your channel, you fill in all those rap and street beefs we heard about back then, but did not have RU-vid for Context. Anybody Remember Gorilla Zoe - Bite Down. If he is apart of this record label, then that track was a hood classic.
"Gotta do it one time for Haiti what up Zoe" - Lil Wayne (Miss Me) As a Haitian American myself born in Ft. Lauderdale raised in Phoenix this was a history lesson lol
@@sartteIt's called google. Anytime someone dies in your city. Just google it. You'd be surprised how small the world is and how you might know the killers.
Imagine growing up in one of these neighborhoods and just wanting to be a dentist. Or engineer. Going to that high school trying to just be a square and stay clean. Probably almost impossible. Some people are their own worst enemy, and never grow up enough to realize it.
I mean people grow up in terrible positions and become high income earners everyday. A good black example are Nigerians! They come here to study and do wonders!
Loving this one thanks for sharing very information blessed love to all knowledge is power hopefully everyone pays attention keep up the good work 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
He's right... you got to think when it comes to the music production it's about being national and international recognized by the AMA and if you're being played on 70% of the US market and 35% international... you recognized and thats was back then... that's why it was so hard for rappers to make trips over seas... there are many stories by artist that said they traveled to foreign countries and was not known but was known here. 😂
@AndrewHager-he1pc gang bangers are not a representation of any race, and every race has them, Ecuadorians have gangs like los lobos who chop people up and use car bombs to scare communities, all I said is every Haitian i've met has been humble and great, yes there's bad apples in every nationelity and race, wtf is the point of your comment honestly lol
Great job, You got most of the story correct and out of all the so-called documentaries on on zone pound. You are the closest to the whole entire Charles, silo🤜🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
@@ryantravis242 Exactly.. it's the same case for alot of the gangs.. they were brought together to do good 4 the community then.. 👉🏽greed & power flipped them everytime.. 🤔 I wanna say every gang that came after the Pathers went though it..
🌡️🌡️🌡️🌡️ Florida always had bright colors on its houses.. bright green on apartment buildings... Love it and clothes.. colors colors colors even from 90s days
Honestly i respect Lil Wayne's decision at the time. As Nas said, "it's hard to teach someone how to be great, they took my co-sign and ain't let me EP they tapes".
I work at Disney with a lot of Hatians and they are all nice respectful people, most go to church and live humble lives. I have a lot of respect for them.
I always watch your videos, and I'm from Miami, from Lil Haiti. U did good work, but got a lot of the beginning wrong. Also u forgot about a lot too, cause u know I'm from that era. But u still did a lot of homework and gave a lot of good information. So keep up the good work! 🇭🇹💤
Did time with Macka Zoe in north fl. Not a big guy but very humble, intelligent and quiet. Has fierce eyes and just cool as hell. Aggressively respected.
I remember them Zoe’s use to come to my highschool in Miami Beach and fight the Zoe’s who attended Beach High. But Zoe Pound built a lot of confidence in the young Haitian dudes because like you mentioned they were being teased a lot. I had a uncle from Haiti so I didn’t like when they use to be teased.
I grew up in Little Haiti, I lived in what would become the "White House" I knew Zoe Pound. To this day my grandma still owns a home next door to that house. It was crazy in those days. I was about 6 or 7 years old. I remember shootings, gang violence, and police raids almost every day. Nowadays that block is quiet. When I stand on the block of 55 it's completely different.
I used to feel bad for my Haitian friends getting builled. Being Jamaican was was easier but we all caught hell for our accents. It was different when we were on the street tho and we noticed those same people who talked shit were scared to come where we lived because of the Zoes and Shottas 😂
Haitians didn’t get bullied my g just the just comes they brought their old brother uncle and homie to fight elementary kids once we stop trying to please our parents all that so called bullying stopped
@@joshwoodburn5249 broward County just like west palm county wannabe Dade so bad I remember going to job Corp in Miami in 97 it was this soft ass yank from west palm trying to do that even them Miami yanks look at him like 🙎🏿♂️ I had to cool his temperature down a few. As far as broward I didn’t know broward had a hood till 2006
Thanks for sharing 🙏🏾 Maybe the owning plaza was a better option 🤷🏿♂️ Prayers out for their members 🕊️ Prayers out for those incarcerated 🕊️ Prayers out for those on that path 🕊️
Used to be how it was in general because if they could prove gang affiliation they could add time to each charge. Wasn't until much later that gang tats became the norm which I always thought was pretty dumb.
Black Americans are the only ethnicity group of people who never ran to different countries from oppression here in America. Into my own opinion, I think black Americans deserve much respect we built America off the sweat of our backs in the blood of our tears. Black-Americans IS American history… Other black ethnicity groups such as Haitians, Jamaicans, West Indies, African’s etc should respect ✊🏾 us for what we did, we paved the way for you to be able to succeed successfully here in America.
There's trails and evidence ,during the civil war age era some African American slaves and other dark skinned minorities ethnicities fled to Mexico from the America’s since during this time Mexico was at too in war for their own liberal independence from the France and Spainards, & stood on uniting the indo Afro american now Mexican warriors with the native Aztecs and unite in the hopes for a chance of true freedom ,& welcomed them with welcomed arms rather then being segregated from the Europeans in the americas a home is a home worth fighting for✊🇲🇽🇿🇦 & we at the end gained true liberal independence thanks to you guys as well brother's, they dont tell you this in the history books
I grew up in miami. People would bully haitians and call them zoes. Then yheu got tough and were proud to be called a zoe and now everyone wants to be a zoe. The im a zoe song was the hit song that helped the whole city be familiar woth the word.
@@JorgeGarcia-nl2ds not quite lol but, ALLOT of the "facts" are incorrect. Like he takes bits & pieces of news story's and just makes his own story out of it & presents it as the truth
@@mikefrost1312 exactly , I went to college in Miami .. 2005-10. Some stuff isn’t accurate … I mean even lil flip being signed to rap-a-lot, that’s not true. Him saying Miami didn’t have a scene, trick daddy was backing Iceberg at the time, Briscoe was kinda poppin as well
