Zoleka's early life is kind of disgraceful but I wouldn't totally blame her for it. As a Xhosa person and a father to three children who are actually doing well regardless of the fact that I'm kind of successful as a musician and educationist now living in the United Kingdom. The fact is that as an African I always follow African ways of doing things, I was never swayed away by our struggles and politics of South Africa, I always did all the necessities of my customs and also did them for my children. Things like rights of passage (Imbeleko, ukuthonjiswa etc.) I did for all my children. I always respected the Mandela family for all what they did for South Africa but I was kind of shocked to hear Zoleka's story, and what quickly came on my mind was the question of whether her parents initiated her to our African or Xhosa culture and customs instead of just politics. The problem of most African countries today is that they have left their customs and our Ancestors have turned their backs on us. I don't want to talk much, but just glad Zoleka survived and she's now on her mind. Thanks.
