Zombies Ate My Neighbours & Ghoul Patrol (Nintendo Switch) An Honest Review 

I loved Zombies! You just can't make the kind of lasting memories that were created playing co-op back then! Contra, Battletoads, Double Dragon, TMNT arcade game. It was so exciting playing those games with friends! I remember feeling so unbelievably happy. Those moments truly felt magical.

I remember how it was years ago with friends. The save feature alone is much appreciated.

I remember these being a BIG DEAL back in the SNES era..and I'm pleasantly surprised by the price point If you narrow your eyes, in the right light, it's almost as if the Switch has a virtual console

I didn't even know this was out on the Switch. I was just looking up some music from the game and this became a suggested search. Needless to say I have fond memories of it if I'm searching the music almost 30 years later. Good review but I was going to buy this as soon as I get home anyways.

I have been playing Zombies Ate My Neighbors for years and had not heard about Ghoul Patrol until ten years ago. When i heard that this collection was coming out i was really excited. Fired up the game today and was not happy to see the tittle screen for each game has been removed and that there is not rewind or fast forward features. Just glad to be able to play these games on a handheld while on the go or away from home in general. Great review.

Great review, the soundtrack is banging and you are so right about it being a perfect example of pre internet gaming. Just bought this version and ghoul patrol is pretty frustrating. Zombies runs really well.

I grew up playin zombies ate my neighbors. I have it on the SNES and added it to my SNES classic. But didn't know it was on the switch. I gotta buy it now it's a dope zombie game.

Anyone else having issues with the new save function? I have played Zombies since at least 2000 and on the Switch, I found a skeleton key which is dropped by bosses normally in the shelf in the first minutes of Level 1. An occurance that never happened in over 20 years. I saved immediately but could not continue. Not sure if this is caused by the Limited Run cartridge or they managed to program it in a flawed way

I felt like this was a lazy port. Yes, the games themselves are good and play fine. However, the options that you have to do anything with the game are very limited. No options to change the screen ratio or size, no Genesis/Mega Drive vs SNES/SFC option, no soundtrack player, no option to remap controls, no rewind feature. You can do this all the time in the Hamster Arcade Archives releases (other than rewind or soundtrack player) but not here at all, which is priced comparatively the same. Also why did they remove the title screens from the games and instead have this hub menu that means you don't see the original title screens and options therein. I guess I'm more used to being able to see those sorts of things. The gallery is a nice addition but there really isn't much to it other than the interview which was pretty interesting. I guess maybe I'm spoiled by other collections that let you modify these things but still seems a bit lackluster. Still fun challenging games though! Thanks for the review! :)

This game really could use a solid reboot just like how the new Streets of Rage did, similar concept, its a win win all around

Question I really need to know.., does save feature mean u start off on the level you left off on? And can u choose levels on this remake?

I bought this game back on the Wii Virtual Console. I find it hard to justify buying it all over again.

Absolutely amazing games, haven't played these since the Wii Virtual Console days - feels sort of icky to see Disney attached to this collection, but what can you do.

This is possibly my absolute favorite game zombies ate my neighbors I remember growing up I would always play this game at my grandmas house I miss those days so much miss u too grandma but zombies is a great game

loved the first game but my flat mate at time was useless at every game and this one i remember wanting to beat him with the controller.

There was a Time Konami ran the gaming world with 2 player games Sunset Riders , TMNT. , Contra , and Zombies Ate My Neighborhood sits right beside those games with great gameplay , challenging levels and One of the best soundtrack ever !!!

Just bought it . I love ZAMN , been playing for 25 years. I have to say , I hate that they changed the control scheme for switch . Maybe it’s a little thing but after playing for so long it’s a hard adjustment , and it can’t be toggled ….. 🤦‍♂️ why!?

Already know this isn't shovel ware but a hidden gem from the day although never playing ghoul patrol order the limited edition of it

The games are great, but this collection is severely lacking in features. No filters, screen size options, wall papers, actual in game title screens were cut and only the SNES version of the first game. I am very reluctant to buy any retro game re-release collections these days; as they are either plagued with emulation inconsistences or missing basic emulation features. For the prices if both these games; Arcade Archives gives you more options with their releases. Hope this gets patched to include these features.

Letting us start with 10 lives would have been nice the snes had a hold buttons down cheat at Lucas arts logo. Oh well. I'd like to force the kid at gamestop who told me Eldin Ring was probably too hard for me, to give this a go.

I played these both back when i was 7-8 got real far, - WHAT i would have liked to have seen was a split screen or multi screen so 2 players can split up. I used to bitch so hard back in the day that Toe Jam and Earl let you explore the world seperate, but games like this handcuffed you. why spend $ when i can either emulate it or bust out my SNES copy. i do love the fact that old games get light shown to them so the younger generation might pick them up. but otherwise meh

Why is it the same neighbors you rescue in every level? Why do those neighbors act oblivious to what's going on? Why does Zeke wear 3D glasses and look like a contestant on a game show? Are these zombies for real? Or is it all fake (like an actual game show or something)? These are the questions I've always had about these games.
