Waka and Winta, two daughters of lion king Nestor and Tasa, have been set aside. They move to another zoo in May and are prepared in this way. We notice that Nestor is trying to get closer to his son, he will stay in ZOO Antwerp for a while. Father and son now regularly cuddle with each other, which used to happen less often. Want to see more of their cuddles and playful behavior? Then keep an eye on the coming days!
Waka en Winta, twee dochters van leeuwenkoning Nestor en Tasa, zijn apart gezet. Zij verhuizen in Mei naar een andere zoo en worden op deze manier voorbereid. We merken dat Nestor meer toenadering zoekt naar zijn zoon toe, hij blijft voorlopig nog even in ZOO Antwerpen. Vader en zoon knuffelen nu regelmatig met elkaar, wat eerder minder snel gebeurde. Wil je meer van hun knuffels en speels gedrag zien? Houd dan zeker de komende dagen in de gaten!

It's sad, but unavoidable, that Waka and Winta are moving. Fortunately, the 3 youngest cubs, Xesar, Xabi and Xira are still there and never fail to amuse us with their antics. The bond between dad Nestor and son Whisker is being reinforced. They get comfort being in each other's presence. Thank you for sharing, Laura! As usual, l enjoyed watching! 🦁😍👍

Yes indeed, it’s good that he still have his son Whisker and the three other cubs. And of course Tasa! I love seeing that the bond between Nestor and Whisker is growing. Приятно видеть счастливых животных с надлежащим уходом .а то у нас один построил сафари парк ,,тайган,,и там каждый год погибают до 10 львов и зоозащитники ничего не могут сделать ,чтобы у него отобрали лицензию .

I understand your reaction. But to reassure you a bit and to provide information, I share the following: The lions that live there are happy. The two that you briefly see separately is because they are moving as part of the breeding program and because they cannot live there forever, just like in nature. Lions come and lions go to build there own family. But this is for a short period and they are moving faster than expected. This way, all lions can get used to it. Unfortunately, these animals are endangered and this way we can help to keep this species alive. There are people who hunt them and that is why animals are endangered. But also due to the disappearance of habitat and natural prey, it is more difficult for them to survive. At the moment, only 8% of their habitat remains, which is not much. At the moment, they are safer in the zoo. I believe that if this species, like other animals, consists of a good number again, they will be released more quickly in safe nature. And we will have to work for that.

@@laurawnphoto okay I hear what you say. But is it worth it to save the specie if they can’t participate in the wild anyways..im happy to hear that they feel good in the zoo.

@@samr5857 In my opinion, it’s worth saving them. Especially since it’s mostly due to humans that they are threatened with extinction.
