I rescued 3 turtles from a pool that I clean. I'm so glad to find your products to keep the water clear while I foster these baby red ear slider turtles! I love this filter which works similarly to a pool filter for human swimmers. Yes, it was a challenge to put together, but it's working well, and I'm recommending it to other turtle parents!

this thing is pissing me off! I cannot for the life of me get this thing open. I've tried every combination of sliding the locking mechanisms...and nothing.

You saved my butt. I thought my turtle was gonna die cause I couldn't figure out how to get the filter working!

Why is the outlet on the mechanical sponge filter side? it should be mechanical, chemical, and then biological. That seems like it is backwards going biological, chemical, and then mechanical. please explain

Going by the video the water is hitting the bio filtration first? Isn't that backwards? Edit: With a planted/betta tank would this be an issue? There's not a huge bioload so I wanna so no but it just feels wrong.

How important is the intake strainer? I dropped mine down the drain.

This filter is great for my frogs. The water barely moves. It would never keep a turtle tank clean.

Hey, I have a 501, and I'm having an issue with cyanobacteria in a 10 gallon aquarium utilizing it. I realized that it's probably because the tank is fairly heavily stocked, and 10 gallons is the upper limit of what the 501 can handle. I went to get the 511, only to find that you guys retired that model system and have seemingly replaced the 501 with the 15. Is the 15 exactly the same as the 501, or is it slightly larger, with a filtration capacity to match? I ask because if the 15 is stronger than the 501, I'll buy it, but if the 15 is the same as the 501, I'll buy something else. Please reply soon; I'm sick of fighting the blue-green blobs.
