Trivia answer: Congo Gorilla Forest, Bronx Zoo (6,5 acres) So Phase 3 with Hippos and Crocs are coming?? I'm glad it's just not a rumor. The only thing Houston needs is these guys and their animal collection are perfect!

I was thinking the same. I can't wait until April 7th, 2023 when the Galapagos Islands opens. I came across concept art for the new Jacks Cafe/event center and the Birds of the World (3 total exhibits).

Great video as always. I recently bought a LUMIX Panasonic FZ80 and I noticed that you also use this camera. I was wondering: what are the best settings for recording high quality videos with the camera?

Great minds think alike. Unlike photography, I dont try to do anything fancy or mess with the settings. I shoot in Intelligent Auto, and FHD 1080 60fps. Of course the best way to show this off is if you have editing software that can upload videos while retaining that quality.

Zoo Tours Thank you. Also, I’d like to know if you get grain when you try to record when the light is dimmer / in the shade. I tend to get quite a lot of grain when I shoot in 4K.

Oh yeah, all the time. I can barely ever film inside. It's ridiculous, the quality is so good, offers 4K, and yet it fails to look decent without sunlight. I've had worse cameras that film better in darker situations. You can shoot in Manual, but it not only looks grainy but it looks like a painting.

Pretty cool that they used to have Eastern Gorillas. You never really see anything in zoos besides Western Lowlands.

The only zoo I know that still holds Eastern Gorillas are Antwerp. The rest of the zoos only hold Western Gorillas (I really would love to see Mountains in captivity though)

Currently the Africa Forest section is 6.5 acres. They're gonna add another 6.5 acres. Just small bits at a time ( I could be wrong on that). The current African Painted Dog and Cheetah areas seem very temporary.

When is it gonna release I can't wait to see hippos also I hope there is African elephants in phase 3 cause most zoos I visited have Asian while the only times I saw african elephants was in the Dallas zoo and Disney's animal kingdom

Hey I have another question about the Lumix Panasonic FZ80. I have noticed that the camera's stabilization is not that great and I struggle to keep it still when I record. I didn't have this issue with my previous bridge camera so I was wondering what methods you use to keep your camera steady, do you use a tripod? Thanks

Yep, the stabilization is dreadful compared to some. It's like it has moods, sometimes is feels like working, sometimes not. I've never used a tripod. One thing that helps is holding (not pressing) the shutter as you record. Another way is by pushing it as far as you can away from your body with the strap around your neck. I used these methods and actually the walk through footage in this was filmed with the Panasonic instead of my GoPro. Having Stabilization features in editing helps too.

I don't know the question I've heard Atlanta and Bronx have many gorillas. I know though that I've seen the worlds biggest ape exhibit, "Pongoland", at Leipzigs zoo in Germany

Also if I can be honest with you, the thumbnail looks pretty cluttered. Because the savannah and the rainforest animals don't really look mix together. Something about the combination of the Rhino and the Ostrich with the Red River Hog and the Chimp looks rather odd. I would prefer something like the rainforest animals on the left side and the savannah on the right side, represented by the Gorillas and Chimps, along with Giraffes and Zebras respectively, but that's just my opinion. But other than that, great video! I think you should've started with the savannah first because it looks rather "eh" (compared to other zoos anyway) and the forest exhibits look way better imo, but good job.

The way the paths are designed - you're encouraged to enter phase 2 first. It has three different entrances to act as a pay off - beginning with a play station for kids, something that doesn't belong in a finale. From a RU-vidr's perspective, this was perfect. On average, people don't make it past 4 minutes - the two best attractions, at least in here, are placed in the middle, which helps keep audience retention. If I went right to left, then that means beginning with the indoor hoostock viewing, revealing the outdoor chimp view too early, no more build up to the great ape gallery, showing the indoor gorilla exhibit first, no longer having to hint what's in with the red river hogs, it means I don't start under the trees setting the mood, I'd we'd be looking at the backs of the colobus, and lastly, there'd be 0 point on showing off the arrival building's entrance.

@@ZooTours Oh, I get it now. The path makes you start with the forest parts first. Regarding the thumbnail though, do you think it'll be better if there's no Red River Hog in it? It oddly sticks out for me. And I think the Gorilla should be in the front because it looks like a side attraction rather than the main attraction, though that's just my opinion.

The red river hog does seem a little off you're correct. It wouldn't probably survive what's going on behind it😅 BUT it's there for the same reason why I chose a chimp to be the star - neither have been prominently or at all on a cover before. I made Columbus's Congo Expedition thumbnail a month before this, which has a Gorilla in front. The horizontal tree is an actual screenshot as seen on the video, so the gorilla and hog are exactly where they are in reality, having a chimp in its place wouldn't make much sense.

10.000% has to be Bronx. Idk any zoos in U.S. that came close to have a Gorilla complex up to 6,5 acres in land.

The whole area is that size but the gorilla complex is around a fourth of that. There are a few that are similar or greater in size - just not as detailed.
