When most people think of EPCOT, you might think of technological advancements, Guardian of the Galaxy, food comas, and a giant spaceship golf ball. However, us zoo enthusiasts flock towards their aquarium. The Seas with Nemo and Friends, formerly the Living Seas, was added to the land's Future World in 1986 - depicting an underwater research center. After years of decline in attendance, Disney looked towards the success of Finding Nemo and re-themed the aquarium into what we see today.
The pre-show features an engaging ride that takes guests on Clam-Mobiles through an underwater journey where Finding Nemo's beloved characters are placed into the aquarium's main tank using Disney Magic. Once you embark into the main aquarium - or Seabase Alpha, one of the must-do attractions is Turtle Talk with Crush. A one of a kind experience that uses advanced technology, prerecorded and improvised lines to bring everyone's favorite sea turtle to life. If you have a question for him, he'll answer it in the most righteous way possible!
The main highlight of The Seas is its massive 5.7-million-gallon saltwater tank, making it one of the largest aquariums in the world, and the world's largest aquarium when the pavilion opened. As visitors wander directly THROUGH the saltwater display, they are greeted by a mesmerizing underwater panorama filled with vibrant coral reefs, tropical fish, sea turtles, sharks, and even dolphins.
