Zoologist still holds the number one spot in my heart for Favorite Fragrance House - because, they are so creative and Avant Garde! Maybe four years ago I ordered their entire sample collection and I spent days in a euphoric trace... just experiencing these wild, totally original smells! I purchased a 10ml set first thing this morning from Zoologist and, of course, Rabbit was one I had to include! I also got a backup 10ml of Bee, and I got Harvest Mouse, Chipmunk, and... T-Rex! 🤣
My favorite part of rabbit is the way the powdery touches feel so soft, it reminds me of a rabbits fur. I thought that was clever. The nut accord is fantastic as well. A bit too sweet for me in the end, but it’s a good one.
Rabbit sounds more appealing to me. Carrot cake is one of my favorites. I eat it rarely only because it’s so high calorie. Maybe wearing a carrot cake facsimile would satisfy. 😁
I bought a lot of samples direct from Zoologist and Rabbit was one of them. It’s really really intoxicating. I don’t get carrot cake necessarily but I get a rich deep sweet cake experience. Already I think it’s going to be a full bottle purchase along with Moth, Dodo Jackfruit, Elephant! Penguin on the other hand is a quite muted fragrance. Not a typical Zoologist for me….its quite dry and seems like a scent for après gym!
I am waiting for a sample of Rabbit and will decide if it will be my next purchase:) I own Moth, which was love at first sniff, just like Snowy Owl and Cow:)

I was waiting for this review, love Zoologist and I sample everything they put out. Such a wonderful house. I've tried both and initially liked Penguin best as I'm addicted to cold and refreshing scents. After watching your review I had to run and grab my sample of Rabbit and smell it again😅
I'm really excited to try Rabbit! It sounds awesome. And I have sampled Penguin and agree 100% with your assessment, it smells really nice and appealing but is quite masculine.
I've worn and loved several Zoologist fragrances, including Bee, Civet, Moth, and Nightingale. I love perfumes on the sweet and gourmand side and some sophisticated florals including gardenia and tuberose. I also have several Andy Tauer and Hiram Green fragrances that I really enjoy.
There is a rabbit in our neighborhood that me and my dog see on our walks almost every night. He is so chill & lets us get really close while he just munches on grass and my dog curiously stares at him. So cute when he hops around & stretches out. I love Zoologist Chipmunk and Harvest Mouse so definitely interested in Rabbit. In regards to Penguin, I'm not sure. I am always on the lookout for a fragrance that smells like snow, but this sounds like it might lean a little too masculine for me. I do love Snowy Owl, esp in cooler weather. Maybe I will get a sample just to see what that "Antarctic air" and "ice" accord smells like, but I dont have quite as high hopes for it being a wearable fragrance (at least for a female). Either way they both sound like really intriguing ideas & appreciate the review! Can't wait to try them!
i tried all Zoologist perfumes at scentbar in NYC. All of them are a lot more subtle than youd think, Except cardinal and T-Rex and Bee I was smelling them outside one by one and i could barely smell most of these fragrances, id say as experimenal scents go Imaginary Authors has more practical projection and strength, and i even though those were weaker and too subtle for every day
There should be an industry relabeling of extraits. Mind Games and Zoologist in my experience are skin scents. They have great scents but MFK 540 and Oud Maracuja are true extraits. Projection and longevity should be a standard when adding extrait to the bottle but what do I know and my opinion is mine.

I really want to try Penguin but Ministry of Scent is always out of samples (and LuckyScent dabbers aren't worth your time). I'm tempted to blind buy it while the special bottle is still available.
Rabbits should only have carrots as an occasional treat. They are too starchy and sweet for them. Rabbits and carrots are more of a literary or cartoon convention
Zoologist fragrances aren't designed to smell like the animals themselves. They are more fantasy adaptations of their environment or an imaginative representation of associations related to that animal. (such as T-rex, how were they supposed to know what that would smell like? It's just a work of art, not realistic interpretation) Thanks for the tip on carrots are bad for them though.
