The question comparing what is more important, artists or stockbrokers, completely depends on the context. In terms of culturally, art is definitely more important. But stockbrokers are much more important to the financial health of the country. They each play a role and one is more important than the other depending on where you are coming from. It also depends on what an individual deems important in ones life. Me being a huge sports fan, believe that sports are more important to society as a whole than art, thus making athletes more important than artists. Some people might think I am crazy for saying that. However sports have always had a much bigger impact in my life than art. It depends on the individual and their interests, and also in what context something is important. In simpler terms, its like saying which bug is more useful, honey bees or earthworms...they each have a function and are good at what they do. To certain people honey bees are more important; To others earthworms.
