I’ve always really liked that configuration of simple 2 foot switch multi effects unit combined with the expression/wah/volume pedal. Good to see you go through that specific effect on the Zoom. I have the a Digitech equivalent one. I was trying to remember a reasonably priced clone of the Boss Chorus and I seem to remember Joyo make an Analog Chorus pedal that gets mentioned as being similar.

Ah yes, you're talking about the Joyo JF-37 right? I've heard that as well. Makes sense due to the fact that it's also an analog pedal with similar controls, but never tried one.

@@PedalJunkie Yes, that was it, the JF-37. I think they also did a JF-05 Classic Chorus, which was a clone of a Ibanez CS-9.

@@theflourishing i was told the IbanezCS9 was the same circuit board as the BossCE2? As for the Joyo Analog Chorus, and Mooer Ensemble King, i thought about them too. But when i get a free moment (soon) im gonna try following the Vid here, and if i cant get a reeeally satisfying feeling of it, i will just fork out for the Waza.

Thanks Daniel. Finally got time to get to the Zoom today. And youre right, it is a really nice Chorus ...just Pure on its own, once you strip back all the factory preset add ons. I will make another patch for Pure Delay only too, so that i can use the pedal in my chain and select patches as though they were individual pedals. I may mix a 3rd patch with a Delay/Chorus mix too, and also a clean patch next to them so i can shut it off easy. The Reverb on my Princeton Reverb is already awesome on its own. Just 2 more Questions... ● if i want to add an EQ to the Chorus i Stored, do i just dial up EQ on the 1st dial, and then do dials 2, 3, & 4 become a 3-Band Bass, Mid, Treb? I already have a GE7, but if i wanted to take this pedal to a Jam on its own, it be good to know i can add EQ on tap. ● 2nd Question is; When i was setting Rate and Mix (dials 3 & 4) in the Chorus, When i was at 1.0 (100) and wanted to turn it down, it would go 98, 96, 94, then as i kept turning it "down", it jumped back up to 96, then 1.0 again. I did this for awhile, and it did the same in the 80 and 70 and 60 numbers too, but after awhile eventually got it back down. Is this a Glitch youve seen before? Or is it maybe just getting old and breaking down? ...i bought it in 2008, so its 16yrs old, but only played it maybe 10hrs total over 1st couple years. Then its lived in its box ever since.

Hey man, I'm glad I could help. This is indeed a very cool fx pedal and very usable. About the questions 1. Yes, the EQ can be operated separately from anything else. 2. I have the same issues with mine. Take a closer look on this video at 06:28 it jumps back and forth. So what I'm doing is I press the buttons down a little bit while I'm turning them. It helps with my pedal, so maybe try that. 😉

@@PedalJunkie thanks man 👍, good to know the glitch is not just my unit. I really like this chorus, dont think i 'need' a CE-2 if im happy with this. And thanks for the EQ info too, i felt the Chorus in its pure setting needed just a touch of Bass added, as i mostly play alone and not in a mix. Wish someone hadve explained how simple this was in 2008, after trying to read the manual, and a few attempts hands on, i gave up trying to make my own patches... i was only tweaking the preset patches. Rather than knowing i could strip it right back to individual effects. Looking at the pedal now after watching your vids, it seems nearly as simple as any single stomp box. Only the 1st Dial is the complex one. Also, i always had to click both click butyons at same time to get to Bypass, but when i switch them back on , if i dont time both buttons exactly right, it will jump up or down a patch. Is there a way to select bypass, and then switch it back on again with a SINGLE Button? Also youre playing is really good man. I dont play so much hardcore or thrash anymore. About as heavy as i get nowdays is Judas Priest (70s to 84 era), Warlock / Doro Pesch, Accept (Balls era)... but ALOT of mellow playing these days, like Pink Floyd, and Blues.

Could we perhaps get a full-on review of just the Zoom? I just bought a G2Nu at a guitar show (and the G1M Michael Amott signature) both for just $5! I believe my version can also be used as an audio interface, has improved screen interface design, minus the expression pedal of course.. Anyways, try this thing direct to your audio interface with both the stock cabs and some third-party IR's to see what kind of usable tones this thing has in store! And maybe disable the cabs and run it into a power-amp & cabinet if you have the necessary equipment to try that also! After all, this generation of Zoom multi-effects / modelers were endorsed by George Lynch, Dave Mustaine, Kiko Loureiro, Richie Kotzen, and the aforementioned Michael Amott! Keep Rocking Pedal Junkie! \m/

Sure, I can make a review of the Zoom. I was thinking about doing that anyway. But I can only do pedal in front amp demos because I do not own a PC/ Interface/ DAW etc. I record my videos with a USB C microphone plugged into my smartphone. $5 ?! Omg THATS amazing 👏 The Michael Amott one was actually my first multi fx pedal ever so it's got a warm place in my heart. Im making the video in a couple of days

@@PedalJunkie Hey man I'd like to thank you for your efforts and fan interaction. In that case, perhaps run it through the Roland Jazz-Chorus so as to not color the natural sound of the Zoom too much... I've seen other low-budget RU-vidrs sometimes use a TASCAM hand-held stereo microphone on a stand (the kind commonly seen in ASMR videos) to get a good room sound when they don't have the proper equipment to close-mic the speakers for professional recordings. Any number of old models from TASCAM can be had for cheap from Shop Goodwill, just place the microphone 2 to 3 feet away from the speakers directly in front, and make sure you are not sitting too close or it will pick up the much-dreaded acoustic picking noise from the strings! I believe these all have the capability of direct recording via USB, but don't quote me on that! I will look forward to your video good sir! \m/

Well, thank you for watching my content. I think it is very important to interact with the audience and since this guitar related stuff is my passion, how could I ignore a viewers request? About the TASCAM, I heard about it. Maybe I'll try it in the near future, thanks for mentioning it.

Thank so so much for making this video. Ive subscribed to your channel. Hopefully this vid can help others too. I understand Rate and Depth, but Mix is something ive never come across before, so i guess i just have to let my ears tell me. How do i 'Store' my chorus settings as a patch? -so that i dont have to reset it each time, except for Depth. (I like Rate slow, but Depth can be from 11oClock to 3oClock for my tastes). I bought the G2 about 10yrs ago, and it was just waay to complex, so it ended up living in the cupboard. I like simplicity, and is why ive gone back to single stomp pedals. I have recently bought the Boss SD-1 overdrive, the NU>X Plexi Crunch (for JCM800 -like Drive), the Boss GE-7 EQ to shape some mojo into those voicings. And was about to splash out on a CE-2 ($400+ in Australia, or $320 for the Waza). Im running either my CIJ Fender Strat, or Gibson Les Paul Trad, into a Princeton Reverb RI. The Princess is a beautiful clean tone, and mostly play the Strat. But since buying the PRRI i miss Chorus, and Delay. So thanks for mentioning Delay settings too. It would be a shame to leave the Zoom forgotten in storage, when i can use it as 2 stomp boxes. Just a couple more Questions... ●How do i 'STORE' that patch (for Chorus), so that when i take the batteries out it will remember the setting? ●And would love to know (from you or anyone else who reads this) how close is the Characteristic of the Tone to an Boss CE-2? ...i realize you said its digital compared to analog, and that you no longer have the CE-2 to A/B them, but if you are familiar from memory of how accurate (a simulation) it is to the original, that would be good too. Ultimately i would love to hear them AB'd side by side though. As close as an analog clone would be good. When you said "welcome to the 80s", i thought, ive never left the 80s and am stick stuck in my 70s and 80s ways and thinking, lol. It was a fantastic time and i dont want to let it go. Thanks again for this vid.

Thanks for subscribing and no problem! I figured it would be easier to make a video than write a text. sounds like a cool setup you got there too! The ZOOM Pedal can be a little tricky but it offers countless possibilities for your tone. About the questions, there is a little black button that says "store" and by pressing it you'll save the adjustments that you made, so yes it remembers even after taking the batteries out. About the CE-2... like I said unfortunately I can't compare them directly, so maybe someone else can. The 80s seemed to be a great time, but me being born in '92 I can only imagine 🫠

@@PedalJunkie Ive edited this as it was an unrelated ramble... Thanks mate 👍. Yeah, hope someone A-B's the two and leaves a comment. And about the 80s been a good time, i think alot it may have to do with the internet & pocket devices not existing yet. While devices are useful, we never had the ability to share music info like this back then, but there was a Freedom of not being tied to the internet or phones. We had alot of Free time on our hands to be Creative. The music you hear from the 70s and 80s (and earlier) is from that creativity, using whatever was available. It was very different times. Thanks again, really awesome that you did this video. Ide love to learn how to do youtube vids oneday, so i could share guitar lessons etc, even just riffs in Short RU-vid Vids. But alot of us early X-gens dont grasp modern tech as easily as those born into the digital times.
