Glad you found it helpful! Couldn't find any samples of the drum patches when I was looking into getting the G3n myself so I figured I might help others out by posting this.
DanSawRock It helped me very much, indeed. Order for one is out allready. Hope it will arive before wednesday next year, so I can spend some holiday time with it.
E 'possibile usare il loop cambiando velocità (bpm) senza avere sotto il battito del metronomo/batteria? In modo tale da poter iniziare un pezzo solamente con una sorta di conto alla rovescia. Se sì, come??? D:
? how do you get the drums to come out of a amp clean while using distortion,i have another pedal that has drums and it has a line out that goes to a pa system so its clean and a line out to the guitar amp with distortion
I have an old Zoom PS02 Palmtop Studio. The drums and patterns are this are nearly idenical to that unit. Can you change the drum kits within this section? I was able to do that on the PS02. The interface menus on these units aren't much different despite the age difference in the tech.
Thank you for uploading this! Can you tell me how the "Hold Delay" effect sounds? Is the Hold Delay something like the Electro Harmonix Freeze, or is it something else?
I'm a metal/bues guy .....should i get the zoom g3n? line 6 m5? or just pedals?I have a Blackstar Id:core which takes pedals well, so i'm considering this....how does it compare to individual pedals? I'm only interested in the fx and not the amp modeling....I'm interested in mainly chorus and overdrives and distortions? would this suit me the best or should I get individual pedals?
This is more inexpensive than the Line 6 M9, which I am pretty sure is it's "equivalent" so to speak. IMHO, this sounds much better and is way cheaper.
@@musichacksnetwork You cant (anymore) - a few effects, yes, but as soon as you switch patch or bank the looper is out and gone. Pretty useless (compared to how the older G's worked) - it is somewhat useable, but also limiting.
Yeh I'm wtiting in 2021. Just wondering. Do the drums sound natural or do I need an external reverb pedal to get some life in them? I want to use them in my one man performances. I'm getting a g3n or the g5n Thanks for the great review.
The rhythm module on the g3n is designed for practicing or songwriting. I would never use them for performance as they are fixed beats and they dont sound great. If you have a laptop or an ipad i would use that and download a sampler/sequencer/DAW (there are plenty of free ones like cakewalk or LMMS) and find some good quality samples. That way you can program the drum loops the way you want them or even use premade drum loops from a sample pack and they will sound much better. There are also plenty of software drum samplers and machines if you want a more simple approach. Another alternative would be a hardware sampler like a roland sp but that is a significant financial outlay. Good luck with your shows.
The drums are just like any other effect. If you press and hold one of the "Type" buttons, and press the other, you'll scroll through the different types of effects. The drum patterns are under "Rhythm":
I would have been very happy if zoom would've designated a dedicated switch for the rhythms as in the G3x series. It was so easy . Now G3xn has all the drums from the G1 series and the G3 series all together in the G3xn but did not assign a switch for the same and I tell it is so shitty to play one drum with one patch and when you change to the next patch no drums......its a lot more work..........
Will it work if you put the same type of drums into the second patch though? Or is there like a gap in drums' playing when you change patches? I'm thinking about buying the G5N and would like to know how it works, hopefully you can explain. Thanks!
Navysealsnake i was thinking buy the gt-1 but when i went to the store i felt very disapointed whit this..the BOSS gt-1 was like a little toy whit a little pedal expresion,..the sounds are pretty similar but whit the zoom you hace more options to customize your sounds..i finally bought the zoom g3xn and im very impresed whit the sounds that you can doing.. pd: i played whit analog pedals about 15 years
ive just made that decision: had the Boss 2 week and ive had the zoom a few days. Having rythyms is really the deal breaker for me, but the looper is also way better than the boss for a newcomer to looping, and having a looper without drum backing is not half as interesting meaning i spend some much more time playing. The sounds on the zoom are way more usable especially synths & distortions) the zoom cost £60 GBP less after all that?
Same as original G3 ?? NO WAY - Many people fail to hear how Zoom has installed newer, BETTER versions of the older F/X. As a guitarist AND drummer - I can easily hear how the drum machine section has a richer, more realistic sound compared the original Zoom G3. Most other F/x have a richer, more realistic tone as well. Open your ears ...
140 BPM LAME!! (BUT,I Overstand...Probably Can't DANCE!!) Allthough the rythms are WEAK,as Usual, for Almost Any pedal, your choice of bpm Doesn't Help....
