nice and great playing didn't know it sounds decent direct however is there any latency while monitoring them? or any clipping ?while recording cause im choosing buying this versus a scarlett audio interface and just use amp sims with my powered monitor speakers

Ryo Hey I had mine now for a gew weeks and I'm very happy with it. There is not much latency with my computer when recording directly with the sound of the g5n and also when running distorted ampsims but with clean ampsims I can feel it. And also I always have the recording gain on the zoom at minus 6db and if I'm using inbuilt distortions and amps then it starts clipping. I think if you just want to record without a lot of effects you probably should go with the audiointerface but for live and just playing I would go with the g5n.

Do i have to assign the effects in order in stomp mode? I mean Can i just assign for example tube screamer, chorus, delay, and reverb for foot switches at a time skipping amp and cab sim? Because it is really unnecessary to turning amp/cab sim on and off. Also equaliser keeps two slots. I dont want it to be in stomp mode assigned to a footswitch

You can't. You must slide to the effect you wanna edit.

Its a very impressive gadget, but I am curious to know why Boss and Line 6 are more expensive than zoom, when actually Zoom has more features than those two, like drum machine, for example. Why the price difference?

Can't speak for the Boss GT 1000, but I love the Line6 for the sheer number of effects you can run through, the high quality of said effects & amps, the ability to load custom IRs, insane number of routing options between these effects & amps, snapshot mode(which turns on any combination of pedals so you dont have to do the dance when switching between solo and rhythm sections).. Yeah, I loved my Zoom G5n while I had it but the Helix is insanity and I love it!

The Pod HD500 has a lot more features than G5n, such as Boss GT100. G5n uses IR for cabinet sounds while HD500 does not, but still I think the amp simulations in HD500 sound better. G5n looper and drum machine use the same DSP used for the effect processing wihe HD500 has dedicated processing for it's looper. In HD500 you can program the foots to turn on/off more than 1 effect simultaneously while in G5n you can't. In HD500 you can program a parallel effects chain and can blend 2 amp simulations sound while in G5n you can't. I believe this can explain the price difference.

Had it. Sold it. Why produce something that's under powered. More RAM, a better CPU, et al. I quickly tired of the messages telling me I was out of processing power. I have to admit that what it DID allow sounded good.

Ey ABR! ZOOM G5n is great! Had one before. Better tones than me-80. Exchanged mine though to Me-80 because of me-80's tone studio. Editing your effects through pc is a breeze. Me-80 sucks on its looper and mostly ds/od. Zoomg5n is clearly the winner
