I want to do a quick test of 3 microphones ZOOM H1, SHURE SM58 and Audio Technica AT815b for my church’s Christmas event. I want to see which microphone can pickup the vocal best at distance of 6 FT while reducing the background music.
Interesting. I preferred the SM58, maybe? SM58 is a vocal mic though and better for close up audio. I have the AT-815b and I find I have to turn the gain all the way up and its still barely audible. Is that normal?
You need to have +48v phantom power turned on, or alternatively, you can unscrew the bottom of the microphone to replace the battery that is within the AT815b...
