I'm 100% sure that it's gonna be 3D animated in the same style as the movie. Walt Disney Animation is doing the show, and Disney Plus wants you to know that their service is where you can find movie quality content, like with Marvel and Star Wars. Even Pixar is making a 3D animated show for Disney Plus, and we've already seen a bit of the Baymax show, and what they showed was 3D, so I'm assuming it'll be the same for Z+. Also, on the movie side of things, Disney didn't announce any Walt Disney Animation Studios movies after 2021, aside from 2 untitled movies in 2022 and 2023, so maybe one of those is Zootopia 2, who knoooow?
In Disney’s Investor day, they showed a sneak peak of an ‘UP’ spin-off series called “Doug-days”. I feel based on what we saw, we can expect the same quality/ slightly better, while they reuse the 3D models, rigs and scenes for Zootopia+ . Like you said, they are still in the brainstorming phase, so I feel like the episodes will be around 5-10 mins. And to how many episodes, just think about all the major side characters. I would be surprised if they don’t include Finnick, Cheif Bogo, Clawhauser, Yax or Duke Weaselton. I would estimate around 5 to 10 episodes, taking into consideration that the studio will be working on 4 series, and future unnamed movies. I feel like “Baymax!”, “Zootopia +”, “Moana” and “Tiana” are all meant to keep fans hyped about upcoming projects. I came to this conclusion because I have been hearing about the Big Hero 6 team, may be entering the MCU (Thx to Wandavision). What the similarity between all these titles? They have never made a second movie/ a live action movie base on these titles. If the rumours are true about Big Hero 6, then we could expect a new movie for “Zootopia” and “Moana”, and a live action movie for “The Princess and the Frog”. This is all just a theory, a film theory 😏
