Well Guts isn't even close to even Enies Lobby Zoro, so we didn't miss much. Berserk is more realistic in physical strength despite Guts clearly being superhuman.

The Mihawk Marineford downplay doesn't even make since. It wasn't Mihawk's arc. His entire purpose was solely to mess with Luffy, have others step in to protect Luffy, and then deliver a speech saying Luffy's attraction is the most powerful force in the seas. After that plotline concluded, Mihawk disappeared into the background. All of Mihawk's interactions in Marineford was centered around him being a lone wolf witnessing others protect their comrades. Not a single struggle or uneasy face.

That's because the possibility is worth exploring in the first place to create a way for Shanks being stronger to mesh with Mihawk's title still making sense. If Mihawk is just stronger than we don't really need to explore any additional abilities outside of swordsmanship for either of them. And Mihawk's focus in the story is as him being a swordsman. That's like his entire point. Shanks isn't really built around that.

While I share the belief that Mihawk is a stronger swordsman but Shanks is a stronger haki master, and that will edge him over Mihawk, I don't think Kaido not having Mihawk in his top 5 is a good indicator. For example, Kaido didn't have Big Mom in his top 5, yet he had Oden, and we know for a fact that if Kaido's strength is a 10, Big Mom is AT LEAST a 9, so why wouldn't he have her there? Also, Maido had Rocks and Roger and WB there, but didn't have Garp, who was Roger's equal. He also didn't have Sengoku, who was also in the same tier as Garp, Roger and WB. That's probably because they are Marines and it wouldn't make sense for Kaido to have them there, yet we know for a fact Garp is literally on equal footing with Roger. So my point is, those not mentioned in Kaido's top 5 are not automatically weaker than Kaido. It could be that Kaido never caught Mihawk, and therefore never gauged his strength, whereas we know he at least clashed with Shanks once.

What do you mea as a swordsman ? He is a swordsman and that's all there is no an usual fight, a swordsman fight. Law uses his fruit combined with his sword. If he loses to Zoro he loses there is no as a swordsman, as a fighter.

Don't forget that Kaku still is a swordsman despite using his giraffe body for half his moves and incorporating the Six Powers in the other half. To me that will always be the funniest example of how flexible Oda actually is with proclaiming someone a swordsman, no matter how expansive their skill set might be.

He never said Shanks might have abilities that stop him from being classified as a swordsman, he said Shanks might have abilities BEYOND swordsmanship that would allow him to win in a fight against Mihawk. V. Nasjuro is a swordman right? Well even if he fights Mihawk and loses at swordsmanship against Mihawk, it's possible he'd still win the fight because his DF seemingly makes him immortal. So yes he's a swordsman, but there's a power he possesses BEYOND swordsmanship that gives him an edge in power. That's the same with Shanks. We all agree that if there is just a pure sword fight, Migawk wins. How easily? It's likely extreme high diff, but Mihawk would still win. However, it's a general fight where you can use every trick up your sleeve, maybe Shank's haki is powerful enough that he can do haki attacks beyond using a sword and beat Mihawk. That is a possibility. That's all Morj was saying

@@what7530 That’s not how it works. Even if Nusjuro uses other abilities and techniques he is still primarily a swordsman. Zoro can summon extra body parts and he is still primarily a swordsman. These abilities simply enhance their primary fighting style - which is swordsmanship. Who’s to say Mihawk doesn’t have anything similar? Even if Shanks has additional abilities, he is still primarily a swordsman and will lose to Mihawk. If Mihawk’s title was “most skilled at sword fighting only” then your point might have made sense but his actual title is “The world’s strongest swordsman” which means he is the strongest of those classified as swordsmen and it doesn’t mean he is necessarily only the best at swordplay.
