I tell you what happened whit the liquid metal thing, he had to much added to his CPU so it leaked and drooped on GPU and probably all over his mainbord.

The liquid metal can weaken the solder which is why these components should be removed, pads wicked and fresh solder used.

the moment i saw the liquid metal, i got to thinking about it possibly being overapplied to the CPU inside of the case, and a bump on the road knocking a loose blob onto the GFX card

Now a day, devices that get too hot, are being done including the cooling in the power on circuit, this way if the fan does not work, the device its protected. Its coming in audio, inverter devices and as you saw its starting in computers.

Most likely that the liquid metal came from CPU when the case was transported and shook loose some drops onto the GPU. Could still be on the motherboard though. Liquid metal will/may react and weaken any metal it comes in contact with. Replace solder with fresh solder and clean other metal parts well. Gaming pc's should not be transported, at least remove high mass CPU cooler and paste/liquid metal and video card and move them separately, GPU in antistatic bag and original box. Self expanding foam package filler may not be enough. The GPU PCB may crack at the pcix socket regardless of bracing. Get a gaming laptop if you move the pc often, those are designed for that.

I've heard that liquid metal can be used instead of thermal paste but it can cause really bad problems if it spills to other components. But isn't that a memory chip where the liquid metal was?

Was the card refurbished and liquid metal got on the board that way, seems weird that it would escape from the CPU and not damage the mobo and everything else during a road trip. Poor refurb job or poor factory QC. but hey it works ggz

Hi, i have an amd 6700xt card. I opened it and found out there is short around vmos. There was no short on power connectors or the power coming from the slot, but lines after vmos has short. Is it possible that the core itself is damaged? I can boot on my computer with no issues but when a heavy task is running like gaming, it crashes with a black screen and i should restart the computer

Good day I would like to know what is the problem of my rtx 3080 Ichill x3 10GB. Once I plug in to the motherboard the system unit won't turn on but once I remove the system turn on without any issue. I already replaced the motherboard but still same issue. Spec. An old B word Bollixed is often fun as it derives from the old British word of bollocks, it was used before in the US to denote jerry rigged, jerry built or clumsily thrown together, jerry became a thing from the British use to term anything "jerry" was bad, whether badly built, badly made or badly operated during WW2. The spelling may refer to a company prob Bollix and the spelling of the other B word was changed accordingly kinda like how aluminium has been badly adulterated by the US today...
