AAAAAAAAAAA SO HAPPY TO SEE THIS CROSSOVER! I love Zoya’s interviews but importantly, I thought ‘The Archies’ looked fab. It’s so beautifully designed.
I know that placing the characters of Archie's in Indian setting sounds bizzare. But it's Zoya Akhtar and this lady comes well prepared with all her study and homework done before she even start a project. So I'm excited to see how this coming of age musical is going to be zoyadified like her other movies. ❤
I have watched all her movies atleast a thousand times weather its Luck by chance,Honeymoon travels, Gully boy, ZNMD, Dil dhadakne do or even Made in Heaven. Her movies are my fav things to watch when I want to relax and have a good time. She transcends you into another world altogether-a true escapism from your own reality to a reality of another world. The best part is they always have a happy ending in one way or the other so you feel good too. I have been following her Archies since one year! Cant wait towatch it!!!
Honestly i can't even begin to thank zoya ma'am for this...she didn't just take a series and do a remake on it, it honestly feels like a new story and it's something that i am so so so excited to see
The fact that she knows what a Jedi is makes me love her even more! She's one of the few indian directors I can trust to adapt western material so well!

Luck By Chance still remains her best work till date,her other work havent able to surpass the excellence of story telling of that marvelous work, good wishes though
We are not asking "you can't do this you can't do that " we are just saying people termed as " actors" have casted in such a big franchise just because they are someone's daughter or son Whether they deserve that platform or not depends on the audience

Yes Zoya it will totally rasonate with indian bcz its so relatable to us, should have put it in theatres to really see that your bubble is not real India
People are questioning about the relevancy of the movie and it is unable to connect with the modern times.. Sometimes directors and actors try to dodge the criticism and shield it with their own versions

So that they know how to absorb the new material for every film. You go to an institute to learn how to learn, how to imbibe the beats of a world, how to unlearn, etc. etc. You get a foundation at a film school, not a readymade structure. That's what you build with a director.
U go to uni to get a degree & learn basics. U start a job and get orientation, something 6 hours sometimes 6 days. Depending on company to company. So that you can ease in to that project. It’s a norm.
Requesting Zoya to make a movie for the middle class also, India is not only about people living in Bandra or Rich people.. Indian people can't resonate with Archies as this will for rich kids i guess
And why didn't she bother to get other talented young actors across the country who could have gone through the same training? This is pathethic. This is why Bollywood will always have sub-par acting because they are scared to challenge themselves. They'd rather adopt an insular jingoistic approach.

Simpler probably means not having mobile phones and social media. Also it was simpler in terms of repeating clothes, not having designer brands so commonly and still have the credibility of their personalities and not just blings, not being too fancy when you invited guests for parties at home or visited their homes etc...

Movies are for entertainment. Did we relate to k3G or Hum Saath saath hai? All those big palaces the families used to live, designer dresses, helicopters... we could relate to nothing. But people will watch if its an entertaining story.

We all know these are all spoilt- super rich kids, which goes well with the setting of this film. I assume most of them all these years have felt it's uncool to speak in Hindi, and have not faced any struggle to make their debut in Hindi cinema, with their parents and grandparents funding the debut and preparatory workshops. But Zoya, what about representation? Why do they all have to be fair-skinned Punjus? Are there any characters who come from the North-East, or the South with Tamil, Malayalam, or Assamese as their mother tongues? Why are you falling for the same template that Bollywood has shoved down our throats for ages?
Don't care about films being relatable but I expect to be entertained. Didn't find the teaser good but it's not enough to judge. Let's see how the entire thing is.
Kyu relate Karna Hain? Tere relatibility ke chakkar me toh phir har movie me garibi, bhukhmari, loan, EMI , berojgari dekhana padega. Kabhi Kabhi unrelated world bhi dekhna Chahiye Kuch Naya milega

Though she is a brilliant filmmaker, never expected something like this from her.. Sorry to say an average Indian can neither resonate with Archies even if u try ur best to adapt it into the Indian set up nor with the elite cast she has chosen who all look too alien in our country. She cld have at least selected merit over pedigree.. Period!
