The multi-layer background is impressive, as well as the demo scene style UI and effects. I wonder if the soundtrack could vary in styles from demo/pinball-dreams to encompass some variety. I personally would also enjoy some contrast on the foreground elements to make them easier to follow. Amazing work. Looking forward to its final release! ❤
You completely nailed it right out the gate! The trick is using colours that are extremely bright, high contrast, garish, and unrealistic. Once you do that, and mix it in with a lot of dithering too, you can make basically any Genesis game look very colourful. I expect you can probably achieve this kind of result with just 16 colours when you use such an approach--which is very optimal. Similarly, if you want to make two background layers look all complex and dynamic, liberal use of some row/line scrolled strips across the screen is the key there. And the great thing is this row/line scrolling method is possible on even the likes of the NES and Master System too, so it can be applied on almost every new indie/homebrew game to add some extra visual flair and WOW factor there too. Do a wee RU-vid search for "RASTER FX SEGA MASTER SYSTEM DEMO SCROLLING PARALLAX". With some similarly great use of a handful of colours and lots of row/line scrolling, you won't regret it. It's about knowing how to work around the system's limitations and really taking advantage of these standard and common features fully to properly bedazzle and totally blow people's socks off. The power of Blast Processing, baby! Genesis Does!
@@inceptionalYikes! the jealousy and bitterness in your comment is pure cringe, you're unhinged. You'll reply with the truth hurts while ignoring the overall good reception for the game. 100K in one day of Kickstarter speaks volumes, the retro gaming community back's the mega/gen 100% there's no denying it anymore💪🏼
ALL OF THE NEON!!!! ... you didn't need to see the bullets, did you? Dat art, tho. Wants to be posters in an Amsterdam weed shop more than it wants to be a game
I really wish that ALL RU-vidrs would use TV shaders on their videos when they play 8/16-bit games. I mean, 16-bit games look acceptable, but they look 10 times better on a CRT, or with some convincing shaders.
So far I feel the game is all eye candy. The gameplay was "meh" at best. -It doesn't look too good either when you take down the playable demo, when the kickstarter is still going on.
the background is great but too distracting from main gameplay... over designed... of slow the background and make the background less "contrasty" it would much more eyepleasing
El jefe del primer stage espero que puedan hacerles unos cambios porqué es un inútil y demasiado facil considero yo. Después el demo está espectacular y va ser un hermoso juego una vez terminado
