Great video! Our roller got jammed with labels and this video made it easy for us to learn how to remove the roller to pull out the tangled labels. Thank you!
The plastic assembly that locks the sliding panel in place is screwed too tightly to the main metal panel of the machine. We have two of these printers and only one could be opened AT ALL with a lot of difficulty and the other one killed several ballpoint pens, paper clips, etc. The easiest thing (but probably not Zebra endorsed) is to do is pull the main side panel by removing the three screws. Then, take a screwdriver and lift up the plastic tab on the black plastic assembly that's been making your life miserable and slide the panel backwards. Once you see the locations of the screw that holds that to the backplane, loosen it a bit from the other side to make future platen removals much, much easier.
hi after struggling a few months ago to open the door i gave up then came back to it just now and figured with the right amount of force its gotta give... not sure if it'll work for everyone but what i did was removed the silver part of a small binder clip then tied a string to the round part of it and inserted the pointy end into the hole and pulled back on the string while holding the pointy end from slipping out... with enough force it finally opened. Not sure if this'll work for everyone but it worked for me. Good luck.
