THe thing you are missing in this replay is the defense the Wolves played. It was a thing of beauty.

The Wolves defense was suffocating.

The highlights didnt do this game justice. You are only seeing the scoring. The Timberwolves were swarming on defense. It was nasty. It was like 90s basketball.

You miss a bit a context by not watching the game live. Alexander-Walker was laughing at Jamal Murray and Reggie Jackson trying to get by him unsuccessfully the whole night. The shit was haunting lol! When the live broadcast crew caught onto it, they kept showing him and the announce crew even said it looked like he was having the time of his life lol.

I'm stunned. The Nuggets has no answer defensively while Minesota is just clamping them. Ngl i never thought the defending champ is gonna get whoop like this lol

As a Nuggets fan, this game broke me. The Wolves look dominate in the way we did last year during the post-season. I knew the Wolves could beat us, but I had no idea it would be this humiliating. It humbles me. However, I admire the Wolves and how the play, especially their swarming defense. If (or when) they beat us I'm rooting for them to win it all. If we're gonna lose to a team, at least it's to a team I like and can get behind. Minnesota plays the right way. Just hoping they won't sweep us, but they might. Your breakdown of our bad D was on point and we saw it play out in Game 2. Yes, we are in trouble right now, we're in quicksand.

There were some defensive highlights in this, but nah the Nuggets were not in jail, they were in Solitary Confinement! It was nuts! The Timberwolves were actually a pack of wolves! conceding the switch really is a death sentence in the playoffs so you either need to have excellent perimeter defenders to read the play and navigate through screens or excellent paint protectors to guard inside when the action does break through the defense and it’s crazy to think that the wolves have both 💀

Nuggets are cooked, probably going to get swept, which is one of the strangest things I've seen in a long time, especially considering most of sports media has had the Nuggets as being the best team in basketball all season. Seeing them get the shit kicked out of them is WILD.

Coach Malone I believe was pissed about the previous possession when KAT played out Murray @3:15 which they believed should have been a foul and then again the defense was so smothering that they were getting upset there was no foul call then I believe there was a steal or a block which leads To Ant taking it coast to coast and catching that And 1 then Malone comes out pissed

Edwards cooked KCP both games, he simply cannot stop or really even bother him. This highlight doesn't do justice to just how stifling the Wolves defense was, an all time performance from an all time defense.

Oh man, so the wolves and Nuggets started out super physical, and got worse from there through the 1st. Nothing got called on either side of the court. And then when Ant kneed KCP in the groin it cleared the benches a bit, watch it in slo-mo Ants Knee hits KCP in the nuts before KCP flails and hits his arm. Especially with KCP on the ground sucking air for a good minute. Honestly the Wolves just adapted to th refs not calling anything a lot better than the Nuggets did. and I really didn't like how they followed it up either. They called 6 straight fouls on the Nuggets, sending Ant to the line at least twice, KAT once, and giving the ball to Minnesota a couple times as well. Then the wolves also just played this swarming pack defense, basically whoever had the all had two or three dudes surrounding them and swiping at any move they made. It left a lot of guys open but was very frustrating for the ball carrier, and when they would pass, the defenders just went with the ball. Gordon was relatively unaffected and able to muscle through it, but it was getting to Joker and Murray pretty clearly early on. For Denver to get back in this, they are going to need to really start hammering at the Wolves while the Nuggets have the ball, just hard screens and elbows into ribs.

I’ve never seen the Nuggets play this bad and I’ve also seen the T-Wolves play much better. The Nuggets completely feel apart

Everybody is overlooking one very important factor about Denver and Minnesota. They were both built by the same architect. A man named Tim Connelly. He drafted the Joker, MPJ, and Jamal Murray, and brought Aaron Gordon to Denver. He left Denver and went to Minnesota. He brought the head coach and assistant from Denver. He drafted Anthony Edwards and brought Rudy Gober to Minnesota and everybody said he was crazy. He is a genius as an exec. He built a great team in Denver. And an even better one in Minnesota.
