This zucchini plant have no male flowers ready to polinate the fruit ( Female flowers )
What you could do is take from another zucchini or squash plant to cross pollination .
It work most of the time guys , I did it many times ..
Or what you could do is prune your plant , so it grow faster , which will Bring in male flowers ..

The shorts are packed with so much valuable info. Thank you. Zucchini staked to climb up rather than spreading will give us so much more space in our small garden.

I did the same exact thing with a squash 2 days ago. I used a plant that was an entirely different variety of squash. The vegetable will be the same, just the seeds will be different. So if you aren't planning on using the seeds for planting, it doesn't matter 😊😊

Definitely remove some male flowers and do a light pruning , that will speed up the Growing process

This was exactly my question, I have a straight neck squash with tons of gorgeous female flowers and zero male ready! It’s the only straight neck I have, I have two zucchini plants neighbor of which are blooming yet, and a crooked neck squash that’s also not blooming yet. They’re all beautiful healthy plants but so far my crooked neck has these female flowers and nothing to pollinate it with :(

Very sorry to hear that but you could always cross pollinate with a zucchini and squash plant. It will grow and produce fine...

Yes , you could keep it in a glass of water, or keep it in a Ziploc bag and store it in the refrigerator, not sure how long it lasted..

you dont need to if you have bees they do the job so you don't have, mine are growing fine. i find your giving yourself extra work by cross pollination.

@@rosemaryagius7421his is to ensure every flower gets pollenated...... it also prevents hybridization of your seed if you are collecting them to sow the next year.

I would use another squash flower. Pumpkin, summer squash, cucumber, etc.

@ale347baker I would cross pollinate if I can't find a male flower of the same vegetable. Flower off a different plant but same vegetable is good. That is what bees do. What will you get? 😳 who knows?

@@CecereHomestead I was asking another garden nerd at work about this. Exactly what movies do they go from flower to flower Paul and everything so I was thinking that since pollen is pollen, no matter what you do you know you can cross pollinate everything

What if i have a huge 10 inch zucchini that hasnt opened the flower yet? Is it edible?

Well for a zucchini to grow the flower has to get pollinated. If it doesn't pollinate, it wouldn't reach 10 in.. .. that is strange.. If it looks good cut it and if the inside looks good .. grill or stir fry

@@Greentgarden thanks for the reply. It doesnt look like the flower ever opened up. I usually lose my plants to vine borers. This year i used bt and took care of the problem and now have a very healthy plant. Im guessing that it was pollinated early due to your response and some other videos i looked at. Thanks again

Prune some of your bottom leaves and male flowers out , keep back 3-4 of male flowers... Or you could just wait till the plants grow more ... It takes sometimes but it will grow female ..

Can I open the female flowers by hand, they never sprout at the same time I either always have male or female never both so the zucchini stays small and flowers die off before I the other ones come

You could cut the male flower out and store it in a ziploc bag and keep it in the fridge . It will last for a couple days .. or you could always open the male flower one day before or one day after.. I would mess with the female flowers lol
