The thing is katara and aang’s relationship was built on the stress of being the last air bender, the hormonal growth of a 12 yr old, and katara being the only girl aang hangs out with. However zuko and katara’s relationship was built entirely on their ability to trust each other in a matter of seconds.
Not a matter of seconds but Shared trauma, maturity, trust that’s been EARNED, and a deep understanding of doing what’s right for those who can’t. And I do agree, Katara and Aang were paired because they both shared a trait of being the last of their kind.
Not to mention how much of a double standard Aang actually is. Boy refused to kill Ozai because of his monk culture and morals, but then he is totally ok with marrying, which is also something that monks dont do
I have to get this off my chest, but everytime I think about how the future of ATLA would have played out if Zutara became canon, my heard bleeds. Imagine skipping a few years forward, Katara and Zuko would have their first child, and now think about that: the first born isnt a firebender like everyone would expect, but instead a Waterbender. People in the Firenation will be sceptical, not only that but everyone will be. Questions will arise from the crowds, asking whether or not a Waterbender can take the roll of the Firelord or not. Protests might come up as well, demanding that their second child, a potential Firebender would become the next Firelord. But Zuko and Katara will turn down their requests, they will stick to the rules and not put their first born second in line, despite the fact that its a Waterbender. Zuko and Katara will show the world that you dont have to be able to bend fire, in order to become the Firelord, but instead that you have to have your heart at the right spot in your chest, that you understand the ways and traditions of the Firenation, respecting the people and learning how to positively influence not only the nation itself, but also how to prove yourself to the world itself. This child will be the bridge between Firenation and Watertribe, learning both ways and cultures without feeling seperated or like he/she doesnt belong to either of them. They will be able to Waterbend, yet growing up with the understanding of both the Firenation and the Watertribes, learning not to divide those two cultures and treat them as one. This is exactly what Guru Pathik already said in Book 2: „The greates illusion of this world is the illusion of seperation. Things you think are seperate and different are actually one and the same. We are all one people, but we live as if divided“, which is also a very great and powerful message brought along. A Waterbender as the future Firelord would only bring the Nations closer together, bluring the line of seperation created by the people many many years ago, which is something that this world is trying to achieve after the 100 year war.
You took the words RIGHT out of my out! There could have been so much potential for this ship. I can't fathom all this hate towards something that could've been really meaningful.
It would be cool if instead of Korra it’s zuko and katanas kid who ends up being the avatar. Because technically the kid was born to a woman from the southern water tribe, it would fit and then the kid would be conflicted about there duties as the firelord are more important or duties as the avatar are more important
I love how when Zuko saves Katara from the falling rocks that he cares mostly about her. Because as you can see here: 1:11 he completely shoves Suki out of the way and dives straight for Katara, also HAVE YOU SEEN THE WAY HE LOOKS AT HER?!?! My guy is in love. Also fun fact the writers were going to make Zutara a thing but they thought that it wouldn’t make any sense in a children’s show, they also regret it. Even the actors agreed that Zutara should have been a thing. So at least we know that it was originally going to be them together.
@@vinnxsq prob cause most kids at the time were expecting Aang to get the girl, not the guy who's been on the other side for majority of the show, i mean tbh as a kid i did too, but then i rewatched it again at like 16 and boy did Zuko and Katara's chemistry have me in a chokehold
I always hoped katara and zuko would end up together. Not because I dislike relationship between aang and katara. Because of their transformation. Katara who used to be a naive little girl became a powerful bender and Zuko who used to be a misunderstood villain became a real hero. And their relationship which was based on hatred became a bond between trust. So zutara is still my favourite ship.
I was thinking they match together, but the writer make the love scenes were going weirdly 😅 I mean zuko and katara have the same destiny, they both loose their mother and become mature bcuz the life demand for it. But in here aang is the main character so he deserves some better girls beside him 😅
When I first watched Avatar, i thought zuko and katara was honestly the canon couple of the show. Nothing against my boi aang, BUT katara and zuko fit more together ❤~

It writes itself and these two got destroyed just as they did in GOT. Love this video, I wouldn't generalize them under something so simple, they're more like similar souls that fit together because they have what each other is missing. Yin & Yang Fire & water. #4 if one day they did marry it would of brought Peace to both sides. #5 she's the only person he LET touch his Scar even tho he's very Embarrassed by It. #6 both lost there mothers and had to grow up in a Broken home. #7 There both near the same Age. I'll add a little. I've seen a lot of Zutara's videos on RU-vid. How touching! I see Zuko sacrificed a lot for Kattara. And Kattara gave Zuko a lot of comfort. So, in a way, they complement each other one another.

Katara’s feelings for Aang was motherly, or sisterly, but never seemed she saw him as a man, or a partner. She became a woman around Zuko, they were equals, and he moved her, she showed a lot of passion towards him. The end was a little bitter for me, I felt Katara chose Aang because she can’t say no to the savior, she had to please him, she was the throphy. Not for love.
@@kaynae4460 Don't know why everyone is looking down on Aang but by the end he seemed very mature as the Avatar and looking out for his friends and the world, Katara definitely saw him differently.
They were the same voice actors as Jake and Rose in the American Dragon cartoon. So I guess in a weird way they ended up together in an alternate universe.

DONT get me wrong but tbh katara is more like aang's older sister to him. they get along together really well but in a sibling way. making aang and katara together is prob the worst thing to ever happen in ATLA. plus, katara looks 5 yrs older than him even tho he's like a hunderd yrs older than her which makes katara look like a pedo. he should've fall in love with that one fire nation girl from the school. they really get along rlly well and would've made a good couple.
I really hope someone makes an FMV of Zutara using Fire on Fire by Sam Smith. I think that song suits their story and the what-ifs between them very well. I'm really gonna cry so hard if someone makes one 😭
I’ve always felt like Katara was like the sister that Zuko never had. I mean he really had it rough with a sibling like Azula and Katara figuratively and literally healed those wounds.
Teen Katara and Zuko I could see like a young fire and ice love, but Adult Katara and Adult Aang as a fully developed Avatar on Korra show you why Aang and Katara make powerful soulmates, especially as we saw some of their adventures on Legend of Korra
I have always been bothered by the whole Aang and Katara thing because it is straight up weird. He is literally 12 and she is like 15. Zuko and Katara being together makes so much more sense
Its not the age diffrence that matterd here she was also 14 not 15. The Main issue was that aang and katara were a boat that was meant to sink. Its bc aang is too much for katara. Katara is too kind hearted towards aang and she wouldnt help aang grow. The right person for aang is toph they are both immature. And toph has something aang lacks a lot of. Its self value. Aang sees everyone as more valuable and will never value himself enough. Toph on the other hand knows how special she is and she gives 0 fucks she is perfect for aang she would help aang stay in reality as aang loves to day dream toph is a realist and aang is a realist. Both are meant for eachother and they would help eachother grow.
One of the one things that pissed me off in the show is not having Katara and Zuko together. Aang needs to marry a non-bender in order for his children to be all airbenders, and Zuko marrying one of the most famous and powerful waterbenders will bring peace to what his father destroyed.
Ya'll thinking why mai and zuko end up together? Like they never talk to each other yes they know each other but i was surprise that they end up together.. And aang having hair is so weird he's hair never grows when he's stuck on the iceberg, i think zuko and katara has more in common..
Aang and katara are both perfect couple. Don't forget that they both want into alot of trial and challenges together so we can just say that zuko and katara is a good relationship. Their just friends. Am sure if zuko doesn't save katara from the lighting that Azula through to her. Zuko will be a toost meat in aang hands after the war😂
