The Tempest is Raging was first recorded in 1999 by the American choir The Gaither choir. It was lovely but Gabriel blew them away. Unfortunately, the lead singet who first sung the song passed away in 2010. What Gabriel did with this praise was beyond beautiful. I couldn't believe what I heard and have literally listened to it over 100 times. I think personally it's the best English praise he's ever recorded and I don't think anyone will ever outsing him on this song. The beauty of his voice, the rich colors of his voice are like a work of art and I'm just thankful that I am blessed to experience it. Thank you for sharing this and for your wonderful reaction. Even with a full choir and orchestra behind him, he still effortlessly stands out. When I heard that piano intro, my old brain went right back to Ray Charles in the 60s and I knew Gabriel was going to get all bluesy. That high note and run was pure gospel. So cool!
