@@TSFAHTPS I'm interested if can do a nice clean sound. The way you can back off the gain on something like a bass driver and it becomes your lean sound... If it could do a nice clean sound, it would save me building an a Alembic preamp that I've been planning.

Its the Marshall JTM, Which is basically a copy of the bassman, but with british parts substituted

Haven't had the chance to try one yet...as far as I know you can switch either side to be the drive or the boost (or both drives or both boosts) you could definitely get some pretty cool sounds...I might have to invest in one...

Thanks for the reply. I really love the sound of the BOR, the 59 Sound reviewed here and the amps they are based off of. I find myself drawn to that kind of tone more than the high gain hot-rodded JCM type of tones that many pedals emulate (though they certainly have their applications). I'll keep an eye on this channel. If you do invest in a Double Rock, I'll be interested to hear your opinions :)

I think it does...that's just my opinion of course but that's what I love about the Box of Rock so much...it is the only pedal I've come across that really reacts like an amp. I run it as the last "drive" pedal in my chain...delay, reverb & trem after but everything else before and I leave it on pretty much 99% of the time...only on a quite low Gain setting - Gain at maybe 9 or 10 o'clock - it just sounds like a clean amp that's turned up to a point where the valves work nicely...just a nice warm round sound...the boost gives it some extra presence (the magic sauce)...I've played a LOT of low gain amp-in-a-box style pedals and this one - in my opinion - blows them all away! If you get a chance try one out...I really don't think there is any difference in sound between the Vexter and hand painted version...and like I said that's just my opinion...may not work for everyone but it works for me! I agree with the SFAH pedal show :) I run a ghoul screamer into it (BOR) and those 2 pedals give me anything between clean and Maiden or Sabbath.

The 59 Sound is a 59 Tweed Bassman, the Box of Rock is a Plexi
