I still have my ZZ keychain from 1983 "Eliminator" era. You remember, like the one video where they handed the boy the key the keys in "Sharp Dressed Man"? I've used it for every car I've had since 1983. My first car was a 2 door 1974 Chevy Impala. And I'm using it now with my 2007 PT Cruiser, Touring Edition. 😎

The more polyphonic instruments you add like extra guitars and keys, the more the frequency range can get crowded and instruments have to compete with each other. A power trio can have more clarity as each instrument has their own space.

The four guys in Golden Earring has also played together since 1970. They did have some line-up changes the first years of their career (which started in 1961!) and some additional members along the way. But the four members that play together as Golden Earring today has been with the band since 1970. As a band with all original members still in the band, and never had any aditional members, ZZ Top are in their own league though.

No disrespect, but Elwood has been asked to do too much. That first night in Valdosta, ooof, he seemed really nervous , totally understandable. He literally got lost and just didn’t play at all for huge swaths of songs. Would love to see them again later in the tour. I’m sure Elwood will get his groove on . My respect for Billy is huge.

ZZ Top was the first band I REALLY got into as a teen. Incredible guitar tone...Billy is just an incredibly innovative player from a tone and technique perspective. Interesting how Frank seems to play drums with his eyes closed. Just feeling the groove.
