They kept to themselves so well that all we really know is they play kick ass rock with the perfect cocky swaggy songs. Their drummer did a bunch of drugs but he was really the only one who struggled with it and he got right. What a cool band.

This is my favorite ZZ Top song. Dirty and nasty is exactly how to describe that riff, and the lyrics are fire. Remember when you were young and used to cash your check on Friday and you'd feel like Superman with a wad of cash in your pocket? You'd spend the whole weekend getting wild and chasing girls. Then, come Monday morning, you'd wake up with no money, no girl and only half a tank of gas and a stale bag of potato chips to get through the week. But, you know what, the next Friday you DID IT ALL OVER AGAIN!

Fantastic comments, thanks. There is an album called "RAW" which is a very good compilation of ZZ Top's early years, awesome. Some listeners in the seventies even thought they were black musicians.

Billy Gibbons was one of Jimi Hendrix’s favorite guitarists, Dusty Hill on bass recently passed and the drummer is Frank Beard , the only one without a beard.😂

I saw them in 1986 at SPAC. Great show, the set wasn't really long, but the music was incredible.

It's hard to believe that a 3 man band could have so many hit songs. I saw them at the Memphis Coliseum, I think it was in the mid to late '80s. The night before the concert all their equipment was stolen and a music store in Memphis loaned them everything they needed. It was an awesome show.

@Harribeat - My favorite ZZtop song! Glad you are reacting. It's badass. I got to see them in the late 80's twice. Once with Sammy Hagar. Sammy even sang an old Montrose song, "Bad Motor Scooter". If you haven't heard of the song, please listen to it! Sammy in Montrose was Sammy at his best in my opinion!

Harris, I've seen z z. 7 times in Houston. ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥. Billy gibbons the taller one. Played with Jimi Hendrix. When he started early on. Dusty Hill the shorter one on bass died last year. The drummer is frank beard. 🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶

Yes, that is a great show, 1980 at Rockpalast, that ongoing program from Germany is a treasure trove of great shows from many bands, 2 of my favorites are Golden Earring and UFO, both killer shows as those bands showed out back in the day. Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎷🎶

HIGH HARRI.... Great tune and reaction. I have been fortunate to have seen “That Little Ol’ Band From Texas” Live 4 times. I recorded the last show (Full HD) before Dusty passed away. Always an awesome show. You must see many other tunes from them including “Rough Boy” (official video)…. “Same three guys, same three cords, for five decades” - Billy Gibbons at last show.

My Home town boys here in Dallas. I was17 years old when this came out and everyone at High School was blasting this from their car and Truck stereo's in my case, here in Texas and it was fantastic. They are debatably one of the Best 3 piece bands ever in the world (the police was my other 80s favorite 3 piece band) this was the begining to their huge stardom in the 80's and one of the most Iconic band of the 80s.
