While the remaster is about only slight improvements, particularly in the sound effects department, and the removal of any lingering discrepancies or glitches.
im so happy that these videos are still up - what a throwback!! how was this 8 years ago already? anyway this mod wasnt my finest work, as i basically made the original green gem path redundant haha. then again, it was one of my first mods - this one, and toad village in warped. im working on something better at the moment: gee wiz mod in warped, its about 1/4 completed currently. i havent modded nor have i played crash competitively in years but lately ive been feeling inspired to make a comeback. this mod isnt gonna be anything crazy like a lot of these mods we see now but im having a very fun time making it if im being completely honest and keeping it simple. been messing around on medieval madness for fun in twoc and i think id really love to beat my 3.30 that i achieved there in 2016. tbh i couldnt even remember what time i achieved there, thats why i had to log into my cyberscore account and find out. anyway, im not intending to get wr there (as of right now at least but this might be subject to change), just wanna beat my old pb really. so far my best last freeze has been 1.21.

Your previous channels, FreakyDoggieJr and JamieFletcher53, were terminated and all of us have been wondering throughout the years what exactly happened. @@CrashFan95 likewise :). yeah its been exactly 10 years (since august 2014) since i started the freakydoggiejr channel and started playing competitively…im 22 now. no i deleted jamiefletcher53 on my own free will. the demise of freakydoggiejr on the other hand was cause i hated the name - i just thought everyone knew that lol (although that cyberscore account still exists and i logged into that old account the other day). im thinking about making a video addressing my departure and whats been happening, cause its been a while and some things happened in my personal life outside of crash. thanks btw! its nice to be back. however, i wont be as active as i was years ago, but you can expect to see some crash content from me every now and then.
I can understand and relate to your reasons for the departure. As you can see, I myself no longer upload any videos, the last one being from 2019, due to changes in my personal life as well, mainly university and everything that came after that. Although I am still here in terms of tips and advice on any of the levels in Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped, as well as watching some of the other guys' videos, but I cannot be classified as a time trial player anymore. I consider myself a trophy hunter now, with my goal being completing most PS4 and PS5 games that I am fond of.

I agree with you, to an extent. I also felt the same prior to playing the game, but when I did I realized that it should not be taken that seriously as the developers had a clear idea to make it more comical compared to its predecessors.
Whenever you acquire a sapphire relic, the game tells you what time you need to beat to obtain a gold relic. When you get the gold relic, the game tells what you need to do to get the platinum relic. However, in order to make the game tell you what are the times for the platinum relics, you need to have a 105% completion. Or you can just find what they all are online.
When it comes to Eggipus Rex and Hot Coco, they are unique in regards to the fact that the only way to find out what the relic times are is either if you are to go deep inside the game files or, again, check them online.
I’ve come to found out about Sensory Sweep is that the founder and president, Dave Rushton, might be the primary factor is to why the DS version of this game was cancelled as the publisher and developer had troubled relationships as Dave Rushton faced legal issues for fraud, tax evasion and not paying any of his employees as illegal activities. He was already out behind bars in 2010 after Sensory Sweep was closed down in 2009, already faced a few felonies and was in probation for 72 months as he was forbidden. Strangely enough, years already passed and I’m aware something is going on with him.
Interesting, I did know that. If this was indeed the case, then I'm not surprised by the cancellation. Based on those serious circumstances it would have been a real shock if the game went past the initial idea.
The soundtrack is indeed great, no doubt about that. The only problem is that the themes of the levels in the game, with the exception of Medieval Madness, do not loop correctly. This means that from the moment the music stops, there is a 1 second of silence before starting over again. Now of course this is not that much big of a deal, but eventually becomes impossible not to notice it and potentially getting distracted by it.
@@CrashFan95 Unfortunately I’m going for the dev times on PAL version on a PS1 Duckstation Emulator. So the times would be a bit trickier to achieve for the rest that I haven’t yet beaten. I’ve beaten 25/30 dev times except for; -Makin’ Waves -Hog Ride -Midnight Run -Bye Bye Blimps -Rings of Power (Impossible on PAL, I know this already) I have all of the ones I’ve beaten saved and will upload them when the time comes. Hopefully you can give me tips for when I upload those vids for you to see.
Since you are playing on emulator, you can always find and download the NTSC version of the game if you want to beat all developers times. In any case, congratulations for everything you have achieved so far with PAL. I have videos of the other two remaining levels that you need to beat, Midnight Run and Bye Bye Blimps. You can use them as a reference and visual evidence of a particular technique or route that will help you.
The reason for pausing the game is because in several levels there a couple of bits where the game freezes. While it shows that the stopwatch itself has also frozen, in reality it did not. The stopwatch keeps on going, which in turn means that your final time will always be worse than what it was originally going to be. Therefore, pausing the game a second before the place where it freezes prevent this from happening.
Yes, that is true. However, this was a slight oversight on the part of the developers, Radical Entertainment, because while they meant Crash Twinsanity, the last game before Crash Tag Team Racing was Crash Boom Bang, which did indeed feature Tiny Tiger.
Ok i know I'm VERY late to the game here but i have a theory on the trash can, the early wumpa coins and the wumpa fruit being present and this is all just a hunch too but what if the wumpa fruit was meant to be eaten to regen your health after a race, clash-o-rama, and stunt arena, you know, fighting enemies in the parks, getting injured in the events, and fall damage if your car flips in the stunt arena, and with the trash can being there, maybe there is an animation of crash throwing out eaten wumpa fruites and the early coins implied that you could buy wumpa fruits at a vending machine(don't know if it was shown here), like i stated, i could be second guessing this but hopefully we will find out the real purpose for these one day
That is actually a good theory. Unfortunately, I don't know whether we will ever be able find out the truth about the nature of this specific content because Crash Tag Team Racing is not exactly on everybody's mind for a potential remaster. As far as the Crash Bandicoot games from the Playstation 2 era go, on top of the pecking order is without a doubt Crash Twinsanity due to obvious reasons.
21:31 i think my personal theory would be that was the supposed way to get in to the level weathering heights we had to use the glider to in order to land safely and continue like in the final version but this would be my own personal theory

No, I haven't played the game, but I have seen videos of it on RU-vid, particularly those uploaded by GarlandTheGreat. It looks great, it really does. Dare I say one of the best, if not the best, fan-made Crash Bandicoot games.

There is no cheating in this run, dude. If you mean the process of adding seconds from a previous run to a new one, that is just a glitch, hence the reason as to why it is called "Restart Glitch".
I just recently managed to pull every single "impossible" jump in Crash Bandicoot 2. Hardest jump was definitely the red gem one and it took me dozens of tries to pull it off and i couldn't believe it when i did it for the first time and then i made another one as a proof.
Well done. Although I'm a bit surprised by the fact that it was the jump with the Red Gem that gave the most trouble. For me personally, it was the one in Road to Ruin as that one requires precision at the highest level.
Turns out this is 100% incorrect. This song was never meant for the underwater levels, it was just a placeholder theme, kinda like that one unused placeholder tune from Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga that everyone that datamined that game's leaked prototype will now have living in their heads for the rest of their lives.
Whoa!!! I saw this decades ago!! I remember reading it was a vertical slice of what they wanted to achieve if they had gone ahead with a ps2 crash. I think it might be CGI, just to show what they aiming for, regardless it look great for the time! Mark Cerny along with Ted Price his intial crew and ND's Jason and Andy were absolute geniuses, they also all had a very close relationship in those early PlayStation days.
Indeed. Naughty Dog and Insomniac Games worked in the same building in the late 90s, literally next to each other. They often shared ideas and went to parties together, hence the many references in each other's games, Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon, and Jak & Daxter and Ratchet & Clank.
Yeah, the only weapons the regular CPU racers have access to are the homing missiles and bowling bombs. Also Fake Crash, N. Tropy, Velo, and Pura never appear as CPUs. Unlike the beta version where Pura may appear as a CPU. In the beta version, you can also have more than two CPUs of each team racing at once, which doesn't occur in the final version.
The gameplay itself, no, it is not. However, when it comes to the Time Trial, regardless how fast you are you will always achieve a slower time than you would have gotten had you played on a PS1.
Approximately 1 second or 2, yes. Usually in such situation I would encourage you to keep practicing until you perfect the level, but in this case, since this is on a emulator, if you truly want beat all of Naughty Dog's developer times, I would suggest acquiring a PS1 console.

However, you still cannot beat all Developers Times with that version due to the fact that the one on Rings of Power is virtually unbeatable as Crash's boost is significantly weaker compared to the NTSC version. As for zigzag, it is executed by pressing the "Left" and "Right" directional buttons on the controller constantly while jumping forward. In a bizarre and inexplicable way, it increases Crash's velocity and distance that he covers.

Keep trying, dude. As the saying goes, practice makes perfect. The records that I achieved throughout the years in this game followed that very principle.

Personally, I have never given much thought about the waves because I. like the rest of the players back in the day, was always making sure to not take any superfluous movements and cut the turns and corners to the utmost perfection. When it comes to the jet-ski and motorcycle levels in the game, this was the best strategy to achieve your best time.
@@CrashFan95 Thanks for the responding , I actually managed to beat all the dev times in n.sane trilogy , nitro fueled and crash 4 , then I decided to give it a try on the original crash warped , and man , I found it nearly impossible , I managed to beat the first 4 levels , but when it came to this , I did my best and as you said I tried to take the corners and avoid extra movements , but I still need around 1 second better time to beat the dev , I m playing in an emulator , I don't know if it's affecting the gameplay or not , but anyway , congratulations for getting such a good time in this level . 💯
@@theplatformerguy4979 If you truly want to beat all developer times in the game, I advise you to use the NTSC (American/Japanese) version of the game because the one in Rings of Power is impossible on the PAL (European) version due to the significantly shorter boost that Crash gets from spinning through a ring. In addition, yes, playing on an emulator affects the overall gameplay and will in fact make your job harder because no matter how fast you are, your final time will always be at least 1, 2 or 3 seconds worse than what it would have been had you achieved it on a PS1 console. Nobody knows for sure why this is the case, but it is the sole reason as to why there has never been a world record on this game achieved on an emulator, or at least when it comes to the time trial mode that is.
