When we set off to create a camera review channel, we didn't want it to be dry and solely technical. We wanted to take you to a neighborhood or city to explore a new camera, and a new place with some real life usage. We look forward to hearing what you have to say.

The main point with that lens is not the depth of field. It is great, yeah, but the main point of that lens when compared to the 1.8 is the sharpness and quality all around the photo. It's a lens that you can use for many things, like landscapes, and the extra sharpness, specially at the contour of the photo, is outstanding.
I've been acquiring the three f1.2 PRO lenses on the used market over the last 6 months. They are fantastic. A "like new" used copy can be bought for 1/2 the new price. I have all the f1.8 prime lenses, they are great for going small and light, but I like the extra speed, weather sealing, manual focus clutch, and function button on the f1.2 PRO lenses. Really EXCELLENT stuff.
Funny, that could have been my comment. I also acquired the three Pro 1.2 lenses on the used market during the last 6 months, for about 1/2 their original price. And yes they can deliver fantastic results. I also own several of the 1.8 primes, and although they are also very good (and perhaps with their small size do more justice to the original M43 philosophy) the Pro lenses in some situations just are a level above them. The quality of the bokeh, the rendering of the out of focus areas is fantastic. Compared to FF alternatives perhaps the DOF is not thát shallow - but the quality of the bokeh and overall rendering is definitely as good or better than most of the FF-lenses around there. (For example wimg on the m43 users forum who shoots with M43 gear and CanonFF gear notes that the 25 1.2 has the best rendering of allmost all of the lenses he ever used during his career - ‘perhaps even surpassing his canon50L and 85L lenses’). This is one of the few lenses which is capable of a non-digital look without being overly “character-full”
That was such a cool video presentation. Your choices for equipment for traveling and working seem to be quite practical, high-quality, and affordable. Thank you so much. 😊
Coupled with the 12-45mm f/4 is a perfect match - add the grip/battery and it's even better. PS: I also have the original E-M 1 and E-PL 10 pocket size.
Where had you guys gone? I love watch your videos, different vibe than others, like a modern calm urban vibe and I used to imagine you guys have some sort of camera meet or lesson meet and has some food break and you guys have salad with amazing salad source and I would love to know how you guys make it and want the source hahaha! But I need some advice, I shoot with phone all my life, phone quality is still phone quality, hence, I want to finally get a camera now, I know quite well about photo and video composition and so on, I not a boleh person becuase I like my photo and video to have story instead of blur out the context, I find it make no sense to get a slightly compact camera that you still can't put into your pocket, hence, go proper size with good EVF, screen and handling or go really small like RX100, and with the lens type availability, I decided to pick Sony A7RV with 70-200mm F4 MACRO OSS G II with 2X tele converter and shoot closer things with just the standard yellow iPhone 15 because it is good tele focal lengths and able to get 1:1 macro too and the camera is is the only one with that awesome 4 ways tilt screen and the iPhone is always be with you and less intimidated. I also thought to get the 16-35mm F4 G PZ because I don't want to waste such camera not to shoot closer things too and I can do these walk around place your video but I do need an additional gimbal too like the DJI RS3 mini but at that point I not sure should I just use the phone for that as other channels do that too. I also thought to get one cheap F0.95 lens too because I have some great photography and videography ideas with it too. Do you think this is good setup? My usages and lens selection only possible on the Sony side right and not other brands? I find other brands I need way more lenses. I do prefer Hasselblad color, I do like Leica design too, I prefer realistic looking colors now hence Fuji isn't much a need for me now, Panasonic is nice but their full frame is still at beginning phase and their MFT size is big or still not pocket size compact which as I pointed out make no sense for me for now. But do you bring your A7 for EDC or something smaller and less capable, when do you use your A7 then? And some say Sony isn't fun, Fuji and Leica is more fun because they take good SOOC photo, but is it or it's more like the user mindset because people expect to take raw and burst with Sony which take a lot post processing, but one can just set good setting and take JPG/HEIF with Sony as well? Should we just shoot in 1080p because do we really watch 4K and able to tell the differences plus it give larger storage space for you to manage and spend on too? Also, have you wonder like many things in life, why put so many effort just to take photos and videos and not just use phone camera to record here and there if it's not your primary work and also your content not all will get pass down and value later but lose in time plus a lot places and things you take photos already took by many others even you value art? And what camera setup you bring in everyday life and travel, some people use less bulky and performance camera for their own life but use fancy gears for clients and travel, why, isn't everyday life is most parts of our life which is important too and shouldn't discount to document them in high quality forms?
Oh man, took me a while to respond because this comment had som many options and thoughts. First, haven't gone anywhere exactly. I, Josh, have 2 young kids now so don't have a ton of time. I try to do videos when time allows, but it's less often. I'd suggest sticking with autofocus lenses, especially for vlogging. If you want a cheap .95 to play with for photo, sure, but if you want to save the money I'd cut that too. I use the tamron series of zooms over the Sony to save some cash there. Though I do like the macro feature on that f4, that would be nice. Otherwise, I think your setup will be great. I do use my a7iv for every day work, but sometimes if I'm being honest I leave it home and use my iPhone. I always wondered if I'd carry something like a fuji x100 a bit more, but it's not that much smaller than the a7iv with a small prime. Not sure. You always use a new toy more than something you've had for a while. I generally shoot 4k because I like the extra zoom and stabilization I get from it, even though I edit 1080. My general travel setup is a7iv with 28-75 Tamron and then a small prime like the sayang 35 1.8 for when I want to carry even less or want best low light. Though in the past I've done superzoom type setups too. That said, if I had a newer Olympus than my em5ii with slightly better autofocus and much better video, I might take that out more often too. Some great super zoom type lenses for m43. It's just a bit hard when you own full frame and you see the quality and dynamic range in files to use both. Anyway, I hope that helps.
Thankyou for the great comparison of these two lenses, all together with the beautiful composition on this beautiful streets and beautiful models. Im keen to 17mm PRO to pair with em1x body. However after seeing this video, i cant decide. both are great lens for m43 system. the 45 looks incredibly sharp
You won't go wrong with either, but it all depends on your usage. The 17 will be more flexible at the standard 35mm focal length. The 45 is more of your classic portrait lens. I'd say of the 2 the 45 stands out more to me over its smaller cheaper counterparts.
@@TheCameraProject i would like to ask your opinion, being that youve played with both lenses and many other. Currently im paring the body with 12-40 PRO as im more onto videos, for youtube and events. It is a very versatile lens with speedy focus and sharp too. If im were to add either one of theses great lenses you've reviewed for stills and beauty shots, or if you are in my position. Which one is your pick. Ive seen your vidoes repeatedly today and still cannot come with a decision . Your thoughts and input will greatly be appreciated . And oareon my bad english too.
I've been using it for wildlife photography fir 2 years with great results, but now im moving to tge g9 because of everything mentioned in this now old video.
It was quite some time ago, but you'll see the same on the app preview screen, I must have messed up the scaling to paper size. The first print from the computer was fine.
@@briangriffindrums777 I did end up keeping it, but it was given to me for review, so I'd be stupid NOT to keep it. haha. That said, I've had a positive experience with it so far.
Josh just got my Spyder Ex after watching your video. Thanks to your tutorial I now have my IMac calibrated. My brightness was way to bright. After calibrating I edited some photos and they now look so much better. They are brighter and colors are great. I’m going to ask a stupid question. The calibration called to lower the brightness so I got it on the mark. I assume I leave the brightness as the calibration suggested, correct ? Thank you so much for your tutorial as it has made a big difference to my portraits. You are the “man”. I’ve subscribed to your channel.
Yeah essentially leave brightness as is. If it feels too dark you can turn up your room light a bit before calibration to get a slightly higher number. Like 180 instead of 120 for instance. Then recalibrate to that brightness and leave it alone.
It's the most shit printer I've ever had. I had it for 2 years. It never pick your paper automatically. It is slow and has a lot of bugs. It gives stains on 1 out of 10 prints. I ended up throwing the printer out of the window after trying to print 4 pages in 1 hour and 20 minutes.
Hey, I was thinking about buying the epson 700 but after reading what you wrote, probably not... can I ask, what you bought after you sent that epson 700 flying?
I could easily afford the G9 and wanted the high end features, but the size defeats the purpose of M4/3, so I chose the GX9 instead. I am pretty happy with it, but I wish the G9 could have been made smaller.
OMG another slow shutter speed water snap! a new printer, two monitors and your snap. I just had to flush the toilets to see white water rapids at the arena.
Nice image of the Paterson Falls, Ive been shooting them for over 50 years, But my issue with the P700. I have used nothing but Epson printer since I left film. I have had the 2200 3880 the P600 and now the P700. I hate this printer, and also Epson support which there really is none. It has given me nothing but problems. It started with the screen telling me there is no paper loaded. which was false. Now it tells me that action to print from the front load shelf is also not loaded . Again not true. I never use the front its too much of a P I T A to use. When it works as it should the prints are outstanding . Support will not even answers my requests for help. Its time to test out the Canon line.
Hi, thinking about buying SC P700. Do you know if nozzle are clogged and you want to choose head clean if you can clean nozzles of specific color? As there are 10 different colors and only one is clogged then it is wasting of ink to clean all colors. So I am courious if printer can clean only one. Thank you
This is the second time you released a video at the same time I'm thinking about the same thing. Last time it was the Manfrotto Befree tripod and today it was Epson printing for photos. Keep your psychic abilities going. LOL 🧙
Great video! Thank you. Subbed. I just ordered my Manfrotto Befree Live and looking forward to using it tomorrow. I bought it for taking video with my Tamron 70-300mm with a Sony a6300. I'm hoping to get some nice landscape photos as well since I'm not really a portrait shooter. The selling point for me on the Befree Live was the ball joint on it so I didn't have to waste time adjusting the legs. I can always purchase the 494 photo head if I want to switch it out for photos. An extra $85 is not bad.
@@TheCameraProject I had to fiddle with mine for a while before I was happy with the setup. I was ready to return it because the pan axis knob would not lock. On top of that, there was a wobble when I played with the arm. It was really bad. After some adjustments I realized the base of the head was not screwed on tight enough. I suspect it loosened during shipment. I tightened the base of the head to the column and now the pan lock works and the wobble is gone. I love it now! I'll be taking it out on Sunday to see how it does with my Tamron 70-300mm lens. The tripod head holds it great with a very smooth pan and tilt now.
