My name is Jared Winkler. I quit smoking in 2011, and relapsed in 2014. I've quit again, and now I want to share my journey toward a healthy lifestyle with you here on RU-vid!
35 years old been smoking 18 years..i quit for 2 months one time when i was 21. I've had several times where i do 3 or 4 days sometimes a week but then i give in. Im so tired of the shame..im about 34 hours smoke free rn and ive gotta do it this time
I was a heavily smoker and I quit using the inhalator but after a few days you end up using it less and less and before you know it your free from it. Cold turkey is causing you hurt. NRT is best
Hello Jared: I don't check out RU-vid videos as much these days and just now came across this video from last year. Just wanted to say quick hello and a congratulations on what now must be around seven years. I hope all is well by you. Hang in there. Joel
Im on day 2 now. once i quit 6 months and started on a wedding. I said to myself if i can quit than i can start and quit whenever i want.. big mistake made back than. Im 29 now. Just finished work, drinking 3 Heineken and try to let the day pass. Once you reach day 5 its victory !! Congratz in advance all!
Im 6 months now, I still think about it ocasionally, talked to a guy that was 15 years and he said he still thinks about so this is it, we’re addicted and need to learn to live with it
I almost relapsed this morning after 54 days cold turkey. I bought a pack, sat with the unlit cig in my hand for about 10 minutes battling with myself internally. Finally said ok I’m going to take a nap and if I regret not smoking this cig when I wake up then I will smoke. Woke up from the nap so happy I didn’t smoke and destroyed the pack. Think I’m going through PAWS but I am determined
These are old videos. I hope you're still doing okay. I'm trying to quit again myself and I hope I quit permanently this time. Right now I'm on day two.
I quit smoking a few months before I found out I had cancer. It isn’t worth the health risk to smoke period. I always thought it wouldn’t happen to me until it did. So if you have quit, stay that way. It will get better and you’ll get over the cravings if you sustain for a few months
You’re absolutely right. It does get better. I’m so sorry about your cancer diagnosis. I hope you’re putting up a fight against it. Thank you for contributing positively to the dialogue. The more people that quit, the better.
@@HealthWink thank you- I watched your videos and they really did help. I’m glad I quit before I found out because i probably would’ve been such a basket case I couldn’t have quit after the diagnosis. You did a great job sharing your quit days/yrs with the public. Your Allen carr book suggestion helped me do it
Thanks so much for your videos! I’m just starting day 6 and I watch your videos at the end of each day. Helps prepare and distract me ❤ I also needed to hear I’m proud of you so thanks again
@@Sarah-eu2mu Congrats on 6 days! Some of the worst is behind you, and there are still lots of challenges ahead, but you can absolutely do this! I can promise you that everything gets better. Life will feel normal again. Future You is going to be so proud and thankful that you did this :)
Biggest mistake I ever made, was to quit smoking. I got fat. I gained 140 pounds. I struggled with diets and exercise but they don't work. I went from a slim 135 pounds up to a whopping 275. My waist went from a 32 to a 50. For a year, I was a fat nonsmoker, but when women laughed and said they'd never go out with a fat guy like me, that was it. I went back to 2 packs a day and I've been losing about 16 pounds a month. As long as smoking keeps my weight down, then I don't care a hoot about the problems of cigarettes. I should have never quit in the first place, what to top it off, was tough for me to do
@@JIm-w1b You could have changed your ingestion method to something that wouldn’t kill you. Some people use nicotine lozenges as an appetite suppressant. Of course, that doesn’t matter cause everything you’re reporting is either a troll or massive cope. You’re addicted to cigarettes and are trying to justify why you need to smoke. You could have lost the weight without going back. Cigarettes aren’t magic. The biggest mistake you ever made was becoming addicted to cigarettes in the first place. The second biggest mistake was coming onto this channel and reporting your nonsense rationalization to others as if your anecdote was anything more than an addicted person trying to get a fix. Diets and exercise do work. You just didn’t stick to them. Instead, you stuck to smoking. I promise you, you may think you went back because of fat and women laughing, but you went back solely cause you’re an addict. And more women will probably disregard a smoker anyway. You should try quitting again and see a therapist, cause I gather there’s more going on here.
Now you are thin and smell of ciggies. Girls like that? You also smell a bit like a troll. If you understand the Easy Method, you can not be tricked. It took me a while, couple of years, to really let it sink in. But if you are honest , the biggest mistake you made was starting smoking and becoming addicted.
I quit on October 1st, 1996. Went all the way to August of 2020 without so much as a puff. I allowed an extremely stressful situation make me relapse. Now I’m on my day 4. I just got to a place where I knew it was time to quit again. Staying quit truly is possible if you want it. Let’s all be encouragement for those of us who know the struggle.
I’m on the third day without vaping nicotine, I have a 0% vape that I’m using but it’s doesn’t release any smoke whatsoever I’m fighting hard right now, 😩
Congratulations mate. Insane performance. I quit for 2y and now have relapsed for like 4 months, today, day 2 of quitting again, I'm struggling a bit! This helps, a lot.
Two things helped me: 1) nobody is forcing you to smoke. Nobody is putting a gun to your head. You can choose to quit any minute. 2) Stop negotiating with your addiction. 3) smoking is form of enslavement. Free yourself.
Im on day 2 now, once i quit 6 months and started on a wedding. I said to myself if i can quit than i can start and quit whenever i want.. big mistake. Im 29 now
On this now cant stop looking af ciggy butts on floor as i go 4 a walk Avioding local shops to go buy some Go gym minds like Smoke now but build myself in weight And staying away from pubs also Not drinking for a year nearly now but i find my mind after a me al out pushing me to snoking areas to do a find a butt or b get a cigeratte....😂😂
Anyone else here always sleepy? I’m three weeks in and I started to dream a couple days ago but I’m always tired. I’ll sleep 9 hours at night but I find I’m still napping a couple hours during the day and if I sit too long,I start yawning and drifting off. Am I suffering from insomnia? Even though I feel I’m sleeping at night??
I don’t think that . I use to smoke more then 60 per day . Now am about 1 month. There is no replacement , first 10days were horrible . But after that it is just super .
I'm 3 weeks in, and i feel sad and depressed , like I have lost a friend, almost zombie like , but I know this is the best for me , i am breathing easier
It's my day 78 lungs perfect, breath perfect, no smell from the body, eating/craving for sugar is high, weight gain high, mood swings all-time high, overall not happy and don't feel motivated but fear of cancer is still there.....I feel like I have developed several mental disorders like I became bipolar or also I noticed that I have anxiety issues ....
